From another thread lead me on another question I've wanted ask

Being Kicked while your down, not literally but once you trip, fall mentally in life people seem to kick
that's my experience and it's like hang-on I was good to you or I would never do that to you and when you look at the media it portrays people in general as being kind and helpful, err no there not, if your playing the game fine but once you stop and think life is shit they will not help you they will kick you.
Why?
What's changed, when the shoe was on the other foot they were sycophants then when it's changed they kick you.
life is not portrayed like this in the media or fiction etc.

For someone to succeed, others have to fail. For all those that have, others must go without. If some have to fail, sensing what can be perceived as weakness in others may unconsciously provoke meanness in an effort to ensure that it's someone else that goes down, not them. That's why animals often gang up on the member of a party perceived tone weaker than the others.
Not everyone kicks others when they are down though, some try and help, for whatever reasons.

I guess like natural selection, it does definitely seem against my nature
also I never noticed it before a certain age about 25, and when I'm on a high smiling and laughing other people are nicer but once I'm on a low bam! kick!
this is what I can't understand, people obviously get pleasure from it but I can't understand why?
also like I say I never noticed before a certain age, so why aren't these people doing it to children or I suppose they are but there's a higher chance of getting caught or into trouble, I was just lucky to never meet them as a child.

Also, there is a tendency to be more protective towards children and violence against children is, as you say, less socially acceptable.
There's even that saying: "Smile and the world smiles with you, cry and you cry all alone."

when you're smiling the whole world smiles with you, something like that and it's true the problem is when you don't want to smile because you disagree or find it inappropriate then again wack!

same thing really

something has changed for me, I don't know if it's the look on my face or the wiring of my brain but I argue with Bullies all the time, anywhere I go but I know the day I haven't got the energy they are going to kick me hard, there is never a let up, I can't put my finger on it the only safe thing is to stay in bed or ctb, I've no idea?
maybe that's just how the world works and I don't get it, I could spend all my money on shrinks and never get an answer to why, if someone could tell me exactly what I'm missing that would be amazing!!!

kind of coming back to my other thread about wanting an explanation.

We always push hardest against the things we fear most in ourselves. For bullies that is loss of control, often through being bullied themselves, causing them to want to belatedly impose that control on others whenever they can. They are usually not bright enough to understand what they are doing.

This is so true. Very well said!
Until my entire life fell apart last year, I had always judged people by my own standards and believed that most people were inherently good. Boy was I ever wrong. Yes there are occasional kind folks who will help but they are few and far between. The power of the pack, just like animals as you say, is so strong that even the usually kind ones will step back and allow the mean bastards to do their work. As long as it's not directed at them, you are so right about that.
I've really had my eyes opened by the treatment I've had from people and am so bitterly disappointed in humanity.

because they either a) enjoy it or b) think you're just being whiny. you're not allowed to be anything other than happy, because that means there's something "wrong" with you, and society doesn't like people who have something "wrong" with them.

There is that film Eden Lake showing pack mentality.

This is why I'm seriously questioning myself, I had also believed people to be in general good, and I don't think they are,

Why was I so wrong and where would I have I got this idea?

at VIBRITANNIA's comment about being whiny it's a fair point but I had a fairly troubled childhood but not like this, I often got into trouble but found we had solidarity I never wanted to really hurt anyone I think others were like this also and what malice I did have disappeared with age but this seems uncommon.

animals can turn on another animal they see week so I guess you can look at it like this, but what if you physically fight everyone who try's to hurt you, you won't end up better off instead of saying your weak there just say your crazy.

was life always like this, was there a ever a golden age of good people over horrible people? did it change.

Must look up that film, thanks.
I totally agree. I always believed in karma and am even questioning my belief in that now, as I've lived my life trying to be a kind, decent person and never intentionally hurting anyone. I can't even swat a fly, I rescue them and put them out the window. Yet I've ended up being severely slapped around by the universe with my life in ruins, while nasty evil bastards around me appear to be thriving. Where is the justice in the world?

It's always been like this. People imagine a better golden age in the past, but it never existed, I've studied it. We are animals, clever, insightful, contradictory, thuggish, selfish monkeys with guns, drugs and money. The pattern remains the same throughout history and prehistory, and is based on the principles behind evolution, which are in turn based on the fundamental physical laws of matter and energy.

I have been kicked while down as a kid, that was when my nose got broken sideways. So when I looked at the mirror and saw the picture I hit my nose back till it got fine. As a kid. Never let anyone put me down since then.
Every time I feel weak people kind of sense it and use it against me. I never did something like this to anyone. This can be done only by really weak and stupid creatures. I don't compete, I simply do what I want and the only one's that need to fall, are the one's messing with my affairs. This game has always been lost for them.

I have noticed that the few times a medication or natural remedy or something worked (for about two weeks in every case before it blew out) that everything in my life changed - my relationships, my relationships with my family, my sense of God around me (not usually here - but when there were better chemicals in my brain, then yes), my every day reality. Oh, and I had just one day when sex was sooooo beautiful - and it was because I had happier chemicals in me - that time due to a plant supplement, that no longer does anything for me at all. It was like a totally different experience of sex than I ever had.

My point is - that being happy changes everything. I wish we could all do this.

And other than that, there are so many shitty people in this world. I am working with people who have been bullying me and lying about it - so I know.....And a lot more shitty people out there - and lots of people will only bully those they can get away with, for example, which is why they go for people they perceive to be more weak and vulnerable. 30% of adults have been bullied at work for example - society is full of these people.
The only plus side is that when you are down, you cut out the false friends and the people who were never there - because they drop away. Which means if there is anyone left, they are real and you can trust them. And if there is no-one left - then you are better off with a cat or a dog. Several people left my life when I was dangerously unwell, and I never want to speak to any of them again.

that is true prozac worked briefly and I was getting on with everyone and wondering what was wrong with me in the past, insults just bounced off like they were nothing
but it didn't last.

EDIT:
and what was the herb?

EDIT:
and what was the herb?

The herb was Polygala Tenuifoila. I remember the happiness and feeling I'd found it - then after maybe a few days or a week - my brain reset itself somehow back to its normal broken state. But it is worth looking up. Two other supplements that gave me a happy week each (oh the best, calmest, most happy - only time in my life): L-Tryptophan gave me maybe a week or two - the best week in my marriage of eight years which is now over - so calm, so happy. Lithium Orotate - for a week - such confidence.

I don't think it is placebo effect, as I have tried other supplements that didn't help.

I do have a very bad habit of giving up on stuff quickly though - so if I take it for a week or two and it works, then it stops working, then I give up. So perhaps with more of a chance....
Now weed is the thing that is my only help really. I am better than I was, but still not enjoying agitation all day. Just less loud suicidal thoughts, and I can currnetly walk down the street. That is all thanks to LSD. But it's not perfect by any means - so am going to take the risk and another dose quite soon. There is good research, but if I was happy, I wouldn't trip. I would just want a normal life. But needs, musts....I am going to have to trip my head off!

Thnaks, I've been thinking of trying St John's wort

I think the underlining thing is when your happy and smiling everyone is with you but when your not they will tear you apart but to do that to someone is Alien to me, when I have been buzzing on meds yeah people are great but I can't be on a constant high and when I'm not I don't want to get kicked.
