As some of you have known me from months ago (over 3 months ago), I've originally decided to ctb via a firearm and I'm still going with the firearm as usual. However, I am waiting it out and you may have wondered:
Note: I will be obtaining it later this month, just waiting for that perfect time where everyone isn't home for at least over a day.
Thrw_a_way1221221 (I'll shorten it to TAW122 for abbreviation), why such a long wait?
I am waiting for a 'perfect time' where I know with near absolute certainty that there will be nobody in the house that I'm renting from and enough time for me to go out and buy a firearm to sneak into my bedroom. Back then, (3 months ago) I didn't have such a chance as there were 5 people (3 roommates, house owner/landlady, and myself) living under the same roof. Now that there are 3 people living here (including myself), it becomes easier.
There are other reasons too, but the main reason I've waited so long is I'm waiting for the right timing and also during the time, I was preparing for an alibi in the event that I need one.
TAW122, couldn't you just get a pistol?
A pistol is harder to obtain due to my state's law with pistol purchase permit (I live in NC) which requires me to go to the sheriff of the county I live in to apply for a permit and even then, I could still be turned down. Furthermore, other weapons are easier to obtain, such as rifles and shotguns, or long guns for the matter.
Why specifically the shotgun, but not other weapons?
Thanks to @Threads and his firearms megathread, the shotgun (Maverick 88 with 00 buckshot/PDX1 ammo) is even more reliable than other rounds used. Also, with a shotgun, the pellets spread out and even without the exact placement of hitting the brainstem, it will still super effective as it will do enough internal damage to the brain (even if the brainstem isn't destroyed but badly damaged) for death. Also, the shotgun he suggested is cheap and generally easier to obtain.
With all that said, have you guys waited for a long time until you've decided to obtain your method? If so, how and why? What are your circumstances?
