Protesting the conditions of an inhumane world

I used to be really invested in stuff like politics and world affairs but I'm slowly getting to a point where I've just stopped caring. I don't care about what goes on in this world anymore because I just want to leave this world.

Same here! I used to sit through hours of political debates, Ted talks, climate change, wars... now, I couldn't care less. It's a tad bit nice not caring though - hard to explain.

I gave up on that years ago and decided to only care about my own happiness and not globally anymore because I couldn't take the constant beating down of my mood by atrocities committed by humans against humans. I used to read news every morning before going to uni. I realized I woke up feeling okay and then when going to lectures I was feeling sad and depressed and upset.. I felt helpless and taking in all that negativity made me feel horrible, unhappy with everything, including myself.... So I gave that up.
It's not that I don't care, it's that I cannot afford to care at the expense of myself.

Honestly I've always seen the world as a circus and nothing more. Politics, liberators turning into oppressors, opressors into victims, right, left etc...A never ending circus. I decided very young to not be a part of it and to care only about the few people I really love.

This is basically my approach too. What everyone gets so hung up about is like an endless comedy to me.

What's that line from Abba? The history book on the shelf is always repeating itself?

There's a general election in the UK tomorrow. A historic change. I really don't care. It's all an absurd farce.
Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

I completely relate to this. I used to be a political junkie as well, but once the holidays hit and I took a break from it, I realized how much I didn't miss it. Now that the holidays are over and we've apparently got something going on between the United States and Iran,
I just can't get myself worked up about it.
I just don't care. I honestly don't care if the entire world gets blown up. Bring it on! I'm so sick of all the nonstop political BS! It never ends!

For me that ship sailed long ago . I avoid news at all costs . I don't care plus I avoid toxicity (stress) . Recent years demonstrated a grotesque , tragic , cruel , sinister , cynical farce . I'm allergic to lies and abuse . On the rare occasion I view it as a cheap reality show . Which is not far off .

My son-in-law took off from Heathrow five hours ago on a flight which was due to overfly Iraq. I noticed on Flight Tracker that his flight had suddenly taken a 90 degree turn south, somewhere near Ankara. So I scanned news media and learned of the Iranian missile strikes.
It looks like his flight was diverted over Cyprus and Eastern Med, and will probably now route over the NE tip of Egypt and then across Saudi.

So I'm interested in politics right now.

It's a wonderful feeling isn't it :) I've made up my mind to ctb finally. It's a relief. I keep telling everyone too like I'm proud of it or something. Jeeez :shy: I'm shutting my mouth before someone calls 911 lol! I was making hints today at the hair salon and ironically this lady in the chair next to me is a funeral director. I made a reference looking at the big Marylin picture in the salon, mentioning she died of the same thing I have. The lady put it together and new I was suicidal. She was like ure not thinking about it are u? I lied and said no. She says she sees like 800,000 suicides a year here in CO. That's a large amount of people. Im not surprised, Life is hard and if u made bad decisions it's just really painful as u get older.

She said it was a lot. Maybe it was less but she said a very high number didnt seem like there was reason to lie. She said it's extremely common now. Like she sees a ton of it. She's like the director for the district or something. She's retiring at 50 lucky woman.

Maybe she said, "Eight hundred to a thousand" and you misheard her ?
Given the overall suicide numbers for the US, 800-1000 would probably be about right for a population the size of Colorado's.

I have always followed the news and politics through the years to varying degree, even to the detriment of my own wellbeing. Reading about history to some extent, I find interesting. I sort of feel like I look for the negative reinforcement, though, over the recent years. The human condition is grim, no matter, and that is unfortunate. I suppose I need to be reminded of it. I used to find it hard not to read about environmental stuff, for instance, and had to sort of accept all that stuff for what it is and try to shift time spent elsewhere. I should have gone out and joined the fight or something, even if it was all useless.

It's too easy to constantly be bombarded with negative shit these days, though, so I try to mediate it because it can influence the mood. Even reading this website is kind of distressing. The last few weeks have been unusual. I don't really do much else but sit at a computer and it is hard to avoid all the awful shit out there, anyways. I don't blame people for ignoring it all, though. No judgement of ignorance or anything.

I care but eventually I will have to dissolve that along with my heart & this mask in order to return to nothingness. Which I'm willing to do so, it's gonna take a wildcard or divine intervention to persaude me but neither of which are going to happen so ciao to this Zionic beast system that offers nothing permanent to any of the kind & creative inmates down here.

Waterlooooo... :-D Now I got this song in my head.

I have a love/hate relationship with the news. I am very interested, but I often end up turning off the tv in despair, especially when they show news with violent content.

I don't think the world is really worth saving, with all the fucked up individuals who will always be against someone. Life is just......meh. Let the world crumble to pieces.

Also, it's nice seeing an Undertale fan here.

I don't believe in a religious apocalypse; a secular apocalypse is coming, however. The collapse of the capitalist west is only a matter of time...doomsday is just around the corner..
It is only a matter of time before everything goes belly up.

Actually surprised to see how many other people experience this -- I'm in the same exact boat. It was so easy for me to get pretty invested in anything like games, movies/tv, discussions, and all that. Now I struggle to force myself to just hang out with friends.

I was never into politics but I really liked hearing current events and foreign news. Since the plague I've started tuning out almost all news because political goofs are on display loud and proud. I still check in with foreign news sources but no US news.
