Venting It’s hard saying goodbye to people.

It's really hard to say goodbye to people when they decide that it's their time to leave. We had to say goodbye to @reggiesaurus last night and it has hit me really hard. I couldn't sleep after that and I nearly started crying today while sat in the dentist's chair, waiting for my fillings.

At the end of the day, it was his decision and there wasn't anything I could do to stop him. He was young and I wanted him to give life a chance but I had to respect his choice. All I could do was be a friend and to try and provide him with some comfort in his last moments.

It fucking sucks that he felt he needed to end his life because he wasn't happy and he couldn't see a future for himself. He deserved a lot more from life. The world we live in is a cruel place. All I can do now is hope that he managed to find some peace and that he is in the afterlife, happily stuffing his face with desserts.

How do you guys come to terms with having to say goodbye to people? It fucking hurts and I just want the pain to go away.

I think I might take a few days away from this site and just take a break.

It was nice to read him talking to friends, and seemed like he wasn't suffering by what he said. Even though I conceptualize we are in a suicide forum the goodbyes never get easier.

On the note of people logging on after ctb it may very well be housemates or police. People do use autofill for easier login, and he did pass out with the page still open. People might also use sign in info that is predictable to those around them. I wouldn't be quick to assume people are faking.

Since it seems to happen quite regularly either there are a lot of people pretending, or the first thing the authorities do is check their devices.

I guess that makes sense if it's obviously a suicide.

I was talking to a member on here privately. I tried so hard to look for positives but he genuinely couldn't see any, any more. I guess I didn't/couldn't comprehend how he had made his mind up and my attempts were received well but futile. On the 9th he messaged me in the middle of the night to say he'd woken to the desperation once again and was heading out to do it. He messaged again at 9am and said he was posting his final letter.
I haven't heard from him since and he hasn't logged in.
I spent 3 days grieving for him. I was so upset. Someone I don't even know the name of. Just so sad.

I find it very sad yes, break my heart every time, even if I didnt really talk to them directly, you still see them actif on the forum and one pouf disappear for good ....

Yeah I think taking a break from the site is a very healthy response. I think that's one of the first steps to coping with it, and then enjoying those you love as much as can while you are with them is the next step. I don't know the others, but that's a good place to start
