I have been trying to hang myself for the last couple of weeks now. I have had zero success until today. I have a thinner rope so I decided to double the rope up around my neck. I then hung from the top of my door dropping down on my little ladder. I then don't know what happened, I must of went unconscious for the first time ever. I woke up disoriented with a racing heart and I was wet, like I literally peed myself. Does this mean, I was close to death? I should have stayed all disoriented in the position that, I was in but I stood up and then took the noose off. The weird thing is everytime,I practiced hanging before with this rope it hurt, but today it didn't hurt at all. I am just kind of freaked out right now because I have never been unconscious before and hanging always seemed so difficult and painful. Today it all happened so fast and it didn't hurt. I am just trying to figure out if I was indeed cleaning close to death, if I didn't stand up.

You probably actually closed your carotid artery successfully which is the entire goal. You're supposed to pass out quickly and your body weight keeps it shut until you die.

I really have no clue. I don't think, I hung very long. I had to of been unconscious, I was all disoriented and felt really groggy. It felt like how someone feels when they are sedated. It was really weird and when I noticed, I had peed myself that made it even weirder for me.

I passed out really fast, that much I do know. I had zero pain which is so weird because you t was always painful before. I think maybe doubling my rope up is what made this successful this time, if only I didn't decide to stand up. I will attempt this again over the weekend or next week. I live with someone and have a teen, so I need to wait for my next opportunity, when they are gone.

Hard to tell. If your feet were close enough to the floor, or your ladder, your SI may have kicked in and you stood up, loosening the tightness of the rope allowing you to breathe.

It's common for people to pee or poop when they die because all their muscles are relaxed, and you are no longer forcing to hold it in.

So it's a pretty good possibility you were knocking on the door of death.

Have you ever had an experience with mind altering substances like drugs or alcohol? It must have been your first time losing consciousness huh?

I don't think it was my SI, I wasn't scared. I just woke up somehow and was all disoriented. I then stood up all confused and took the noose off.

I have never in my life lost consciousness. I have drank alcohol but never went unconscious from alcohol. I don't do drugs.

Yeah it's like being asleep. It's sort of weird if you have no frame of reference other than sleep but still. It's like doctors that put you under and are able to cut you up without you feeling it. Obviously you'd wake from sleep from pain like that but when your brain is totally gone you're just… it's all black…

So are you saying that you think, I was close to death? I had no pain at all..It literally did feel like a deep sleep, coming outta sedation. Disoriented, groggy, and then of course, I noticed, I was wet from peeing myself. It was all so weird but it was a peaceful feeling. I just got kinda scared after coming to and taking the noose off as I wasn't sure what exactly happened.

Well, you go unconscious every night when you sleep so not really close to death. The idea is to die while unconscious. I would have to see a video of what happened to even hypothesize. Could have pinched the arteries for a few seconds and fell out then stood up idk. You still breathe as well when unconscious because it's a secondary limbic system instinct. The goal is to get into a state where you make yourself go unconscious and then skip all the unpleasant parts of dying while in that state. In this case while starving oxygen to the brain. You'd probably have to have had at least 20 seconds in that same position cutting off brain flow before you'd be close to death. And you wouldn't be able to type back to me if you had been without blood to the brain for a long time. So I would see it as you did the first part correct.
