It's understandable fearing pain, maybe this fear could be associated with the instinct to survive. I do believe that if there is any kind of pain involved in the process of dying then this could potentially make it more difficult for the person to finally go through with ctb. At least to me the gun sounds like a terrifying method but at least all those who live in countries where they are legal have that as an option.
And also I think that maybe many people manage to overcome any fears they have that are associated with dying when they get so desperate to be free from this world and all that they wish for is to be gone. So many have succeeded with ctb by non peaceful methods after all so maybe those people just knew that the time was right for them to leave and then they just left.Similar threads
