Thanks. Why do they say it needs to be distilled before being used on humans or animals? What do they mean by used? Is that a step I have to care about if I just want to inhale it until I pass out and fall off something?

This statement, "The material is extremely impure for it to be applied to people or animals. It must be distilled unless you're killing bugs with it" leads me to believe that it is too impure, and therefore, not as effective as it needs to be, so it needs to go through the other distillation step.
I only did a quick search. I'm sure you can find many more websites for making it, maybe with better instructions for a "one and done" type recipe.
