like someone has a problem, the pschologist is able to help, prescribes antidepressentant for 4 weeks, the problem gets fixed and the person never returns?

this my definition of healing - where you FULLY recover in within an acceptable amount of time without the need of further medications.

bc i have the feellng once u start with that shit you will stuck around for a long time

not with a clear timeline but more like a chronic disease with no ending in sight and no choice but to accept that it wont become (fully) aa good as it used to be

I wish I never visited a single therapist, it only ever made me feel less understood.

Might wanna read into supplementing dopamine with stuff like L-Dopa I wouldn't trust dopamine medication for a long term recovery, you might get prescribed something like adderall and get a even bigger defficiency.

Definitly there are dozens of people recovered with theraphy.
People who experienced terible things in the past (rape, muder etc) can sometimes fully recover but i think they are mostly good with people who have corny ass problems.
They can fix people who call themself "i am suicidal" but actually just want attention.

I don't think there's many people who recover from being murdered.

On a more serious note, I think that the need for attention is perfectly legitimate. If that helps someone be happy, why not give it to them? Society gets what it wants (another worker to be used up) and the people being treated get what they want. Looks like a perfectly rational thing to me, if you subscribe to the idea of society.

I know many people who have had therapy or medication and have successfully recovered.
These are usually people who have saught help for a particular problem that they need help in addressing or have experienced trauma or have a mental illness- they want help and find it and then go on to feel better.
This is different to a situation that cannot get better no matter what or if you truly don't want to live anymore.
Therapy didn't and can't help me but it has helped people I know and care about.

No therapy ever helped me. I always felt like they were trying to catch me out. It doesn't help when you have more experience and are probably more intelligent than the person you are talking to. Just because they have a qualification doesn't make them right. Just because I have anxiety doesn't make me wrong. My therapies always turned into arguments cus i'm a stubborn git. But given enough time I could prove to them that their soundbyte ideas are full of crap. So, no therapy doesn't work if you are arrogant and don't take advice cus you think you know better. Like me.

I wouldn't say they're wrong, but rather that they're working under a different worldview which they want us to accept. In essence, therapy is supposed to make you a part of society again - doesn't seem like a good idea to try to use it for those who reject society because of its inability to offer value to them. As most therapists say, you need to put effort from your side for therapy to work - but the mere idea that the effort should be put in is never questioned by society at large.

believe it or not i feel like i had a couple great therapists in my life. i'm not talking about psychiatrists who are really there to sell meds, which i'm not totally against btw. but like somebody to talk to, and somebody who literally is paid to not judge you. it's pretty liberating to find somebody you can seriously open yourself up to and get feedback from.
the problem for me was it's impermanence, one therapist got a new job and had to move away, another had a baby and stopped practicing soon after. once they were gone, they were gone. i never spoke to them again or saw them or anything and that sucks. i feel like i spent a lot of effort opening up to these people only for them to leave so suddenly, but whatever.

i'd still recommend it to people honestly. it's really hard to find someone you're comfortable with, but if you do then you can kinda get a whole extra brain working on your deepest darkest fucking problems and issues with you.
