• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

    👉 View the ledger here

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

    Donate via cryptocurrency:

I have always felt and experienced that certain things happen no matter how much you try to stop them. And heard countless people saying at time of someone's demise, " Oh, it must be their time to go." By that logic, it seems everything has been decided before, so the way a person goes must also have been decided similarly. And suicide is but just another manner of dying.

Seems random and pointless to me. It happens to millions. We ain't special.

So you are saying is something that happens to millions does not have a reason behind it?
If it's that common, then by definition, it isn't unique or special. Don't know if there is a reason behind it, doesn't seem to be. It would be nice if there was some greater purpose for our suffering, but i won't hold my breath.

I didn't mean it to be special or common, just that this question entices me, I mean life is but a mystery. Just my pov.

I never will accept that our lives can be staged - because that makes me think some things I cannot change and they will happen no matter what.

in my case, im a being who's been seemingly invented to be unworkable as a human, so i guess in my sense is predetermined. i wonder if others feel that same way.

I'm not really a big fan of predestiny. Determinism makes more sense- that we are the sum of all that went before, our genes etc. Even there though- we make hundreds of decisions every day. We may be more likely to make one decision over another but ultimately- I still think we make choices.

Besides- presumably- the vast majority of us here are leaning towards choosing suicide right now yet- we're still alive. I don't think it's because we're destined to be, so much as we've made the choice- not to attempt right now. Because for one reason or another, we don't feel ready. Will the day we decide we are ready- if we reach it- really be so very different to this day? I'm not so sure.

Do we even feel absolutely confident that it's our time when it comes to making an attempt? I'm not sure of that either. From what I've seen here though- I don't think so always. Some people still manage to attempt, even though they are full of anxiety. Be that from SI or something else.

But, I definitely think stuff can happen in life that makes it more likely we will end this way.

In so much as I've been suicidal since a very young age, yes. I've always kind of known this is how it'd end up. Destiny isn't really destiny - I'm just recognizing patterns and accepting reality
