Help Is SN still viable for US citizens?

I cannot find a way to get SN anywhere. Is this even a viable method for people in the US anymore?

I've read a quite a few posts and I am thinking it's not really feasible to use SN anymore :(
Allegedly, there are only international sources of SN for USA citizens. Additionally if you were to find a company to ship it, they will ask for a whole slew of info before shipping, and on top of that they're not sending a kilo or 500g, they're going to be selling bulk. (paraphrased another user) Also below is a link to a guide which is where I think they got this info. Not sure though
