Discussion Is sharing seller identities discouraged?

I see that on both the N and SN megathreads, people refer to specific sellers as "the SN seller from Poland" or "A". Why not just share their names? Especially for SN, which is legal, is it dangerous to share their names?

Ni is legal in most countries if you are a vet. Illegal to own it if you are not or selling it someone who isn't a vet or exporting it to another country

Yeah, @Stan is right. My source for SN recently stopped selling to the general public because of the very damaging association with this forum. If you googled the name of their company with the keyword "SN", you would only get results about posts in this forum for the first few pages and their actual website would be pushed back to the second or third page. Like, it was really bad and I totally understand their decision to pull the product from a profit point of view. Nobody who wants to make money and remain a decent reputation wants to associate with a forum that is centered about the right to die.

Yeah, I think I know which SN source you're talking about.
I just googled them and indeed some of the top results were threads on this site.
I did see that the company is pulling out their SN.

At first I thought hiding the sellers' names is just being overly paranoid, but I can see now that I was wrong.

Yeah, it's highly discouraged because it brings negative attention to the suppliers, who then out of fear of liability and wanting to protect their image/company/products, they decide to stop supplying to the people who would wish to use it to leave this hellish existence. I do agree that it's best to only share via PM's and also to keep things as discreet as possible, just so people in the future would be able to buy the needed materials for their method of choice. Part of me does wish for suicide booths to become widely available (with some checks and balances to ensure legitimate use and prevent misuse), but that is something that is out of a fantasy movie at this point in our existence.
