Help Is ODing on OTC hard?

I know over-the-counter medicines are usually deemed safe because they are so readily available, but I've been planning to CTB with about 18,500mg of sleeping pills. Is that enough?

so doing that math I'd need 36,500 mg, but I'd add and extra 1,000 if I just use the whole bottle instead of trying to find the exact amount. That work?

Speaking from firsthand experience, I nearly succeeded at an attempt just weeks from my 18th birthday using an entire bottle of Rexall sleep aid (100 tablets), but my death would have been a very long, painful death had I gotten no help. The likelihood of you being figured out before you're found dead is very high, I'd imagine.

I remembered the day I did it, I waited for my stepfather to go out of town on vacation, and I took the entire bottle at home, drove to the high school after vomiting and losing feeling in my legs to such a point I couldn't stand up properly, and hallucinated like crazy, seeing people that wasn't there. I ultimately blacked out behind my high school and got found unconscious. Mind you this was in January, so I'd likely have gotten hypothermia in addition to whatever the pills were going to do to me.

Was it hard to make the decision to do it? Absolutely not. I bawled my eyes out as I went to a Dollar General to get the pills and wanted to die right then and there after planning to for weeks.

Honestly, I'd strongly recommend not using over the counter pills alone, or really at all. The likelihood of it working is very low statistically and from my own experience, I'd likely have taken a few days to die.

My friend, please don't OD on Benadryl. It causes horrible hallucinations in high doses (some people see the "hat man"). There are better methods.

It is possible to OD on many substances, OTC medication included. The issue lies with both the sheer amount needed and the amount of pain you will have to endure (and this pain is likely to be long-lasting as well). I am not saying this with a pro-life or pro-death point-of-view but rather a pro-choice with an emphasis on reducing unnecessary suffering point-of-view. I hope you find peace in whatever outcome you choose.

I have attempted 5x: 3 paracetamol (impulsive), 1 mix of random stuff, 1 mix of diphenhydramine, tramadol, zopiclone, and possibly ephedrine? (It was 10 years ago now so forgive the shaky details). I mention the last one as it is relevant to you. Obviously, I did not die. I did have extremely vivid hallucinations for many hours and stayed in hospital overnight. I didn't plan well enough, so did not take enough of it to do damage. But it was a pretty scary experience. I saw invisible spiders crawling all over the surface of everything.

I have looked it up since and found that it is possible to die from diphenhydramine overdose, but that the dose required is quite high.

While people have died overdosing from diphenhydramine, any OTC overdose attempt is not recommended. First, success is very unpredictable. Second, death is not fast at all and involved nausea, vomiting, hallucinations, pain, and seizures. Third, if you live, you can die anyway from organ damage (slowly and painfully) and could give yourself serotonin syndrome (very bad, you do not want this). I am not going to tell you it will not work as kids killed themselves doing the stupid TikTok challenge, but, to me, it is not worth the risk.
