Hello, I would like to hang myself partially and have already prepared something. Does this look reliable so far, as in the pictures?

The rope and the ceiling hook hold more than three times my weight, but I still only want to hang myself partially and wanted to ask if anyone has any more tips for me?

I have also already written a notice which extends over several pages and would only want to hang me in the middle of the night and not let anyone know about it or leave any other conspicuous message which could save me. However, I am afraid that even if it is very unlikely, my parents might come to my room, but I wanted to write an additional note where I remark that I would rather die and not be a vegetable and they should rather let me go.

Thanks.

There's an article about hanging in the wiki of this site and there's a hanging megathread.
The knot of the noose shouldn't cause much friction so it allows for additional closing during the hanging.
During the seizures stage you might make some noise.
Consider writing an advance healthcare directive.

It looks good. Noise will be a problem. Maybe put a blanket against the door.
Odds are they will ignore any note and try to save you.
Maybe put a door stop under the door to slow anyone opening it.
Good luck.

I could also hang myself in the basement instead and even scream what no one should notice, but I think that wouldn't be very humane I guess? ... or maybe do it in a hotel room?

Basement might offer a better chance of success.
The basement might afford more privacy.

I'm not necessarily in a hurry now, but would it be enough if there was nobody in the house for a few hours? Many people recommend a minimum of 30 minutes - can you still be rescued after that time?

Not really. It won't stop someone from trying.
You probably need a couple of hours to make sure.

When are you trying this?
Test run or real thing?

Actually, I didn't want to test anything before, except that the rope could hold my weight. But otherwise I thought about it, when I get the chance and am alone in the house for several days, I do it then.

@Worndown Would it help if, how strange it might sound and eventually look, I put a blanket over myself while I was hanging? Just to prevent or reduce noise as much as possible?

Folded to 3 layers and on the floor and lower door should work. It's the legs that can bang around sometimes. Just something to soften any sounds.
When are you going?

What else can cause noise so far?

I have already printed my farewell letter (because it covers several pages) - and relevant attachments - and put them in a closed envelope. However, I don't know exactly on which day I will do it. I would get drunk as sometimes and then make a spontaneous decision. If I have decided at such a time, I can give the information about it again here.

I hope all goes well for you.
Yes please, let us know when you begin your journey. This is a "village" of sorts and we worry when someone just disappears.

Is it actually enough if I tie the rope over my Adam's apple? (just a few detailed questions to minimize the risk of failure)

Yes. A simple slip not best but just tying it around snuggly your neck will work. Make sure that knot will not untie.

What knot is that? Mines tied like this. I'm afraid it won't be enough to hold me while I'm doing full suspension

This is better. If you skip the ring and start with a big loop, it becomes the perfect slip knot that will not fail.

The knot I tied is based on slip knot, but with not only one wrap but three and the loose end I tied the knot again in a normal way so that nothing loosens. The rope I use is made of cotton (with core) 16-fold braided, is 5 meters long, has a diameter of 10 millimeters, the breaking load is 300 daN (kilogram) and was manufactured in Germany - make sure that you use a high quality rope and no China scrap and also not ropes, which are reduced in price.

Because the rope is made of cotton and stretches very slightly depending on the load, I had to consider this factor.

The rope is knotted twice on a carabiner, one of these knots, I think, is a slip knot with a double wrap, and the other knot is a simple knot for all cases.

The carabiner is hooked to a ceiling hook which is supposed to withstand a weight of 400 kilograms. I did not mount the ceiling hook on a ceiling, but on my wooden cabinet with two long Phillips screws (of course the wood in such cases should not be inferior and withstand).

It looks like a half hitch. I posted about a double.

This is my rope

A few hours ago I played with the rope which position would be the best for me and shortened and lengthened the rope often enough until I found the optimal length for myself.

For the first time I tried to turn to the left or right side, but the force between the rope and my neck was not evenly distributed on both sides.

In the end, I found the best position for myself, half standing, with my back to the door. I pulled myself down slowly by my weight, my legs stretched out and leaned forward. Quickly my view became more and more blurred and the perception of the surroundings more and more dimmed, until I had to break off, because it would have been too risky at that time that people would have found me too early. Meanwhile I had a kind of pressure feeling, but not the feeling of suffocating. I could still breathe through my nose, but over time it became more and more uncomfortable, so I started to breathe through my mouth and over time it became faster and faster, just like my heartbeat. I think that was agonal breathing.

But so far my experience that I can share.
