I've never really seen any information about what size thickness a ligature should be.. I would assume they kinda do the same thing as long as it fits comfortably under your jaw.. but maybe someone else has an educated answer
Thin ropes hurt: they cut in deeply, and in case of a long drop can literally slice your head off.
Thick ropes compress.
A typical long drop executioners rope is an inch thick.
Use padding to avoid rope burn.
A thick rope compresses the arteries, veins and trachea. You want the first 2 but avoid the 3rd with proper padding. Compression is the aim, not a problem.

Hello, I am wondering about the rope type too. Polypropylene or polyethylene , which is better? I will try to get the thickness of 25 mm. Buying from a marine supplies store
