I've been experiencing a lot of guilt of late. It ranges from insignificant things to things I had no control over.

I've previously posted how I found this site. Through a close friend, who took her own life shortly after Christmas last year.

I can't bring myself to look at her posts on here. Knowing that I was in contact with her days before her death and didn't do enough or be there enough to help her.

I don't want to say her actual name on here, even though it is easy to find her, so I'll just say Eden I'm sorry that I was a useless friend. I was too caught up in my own shit to notice how much you were hurting.

I'll be with you soon. I can't wait to hold you again and tell you how much I love you. I'll have the rest of eternity to make it up to you, if you forgive me

You can't feel guilt over someones decision, it was there's and there's alone. You can of course feel sadness that they are no longer in your lives, and its great that they had someone to remember them with such fondness. We are all caught up in our own stuff, everyone on this forum is, its why we are here - but doesn't stop us from sharing and caring. The fact you were in contact with them probably gave some comfort, but most people know what they are going to do. Would they have seen it as an act of kindness if you did something to stop them? Or would they have been angry? I think you have nothing to make up for, all they wanted was a friend and it sounds like you was one.
