I always treats other people better than myself. I'm not saying that I'm a nice person, but I feel like other people deserves to be treated better than me. I have no problem doing things like starving myself or cutting my own skin, but when it comes to other people, I always get worried when they seem to be not doing so well. Kinda funny how the suicidal person wants to help other people. Does anyone else feel this way?

Sounds exactly like me. In my case, being like this has made my situation worse, funny enough.

I think it's good to see people who feel so low and suicidal themselves still find the energy to be there for others and support them even when they're struggling themselves. You sound like a very caring person. Hugs, wishing you the best.

I'm very closed off in real life. Who am I to help other people or be worried about them, I feel too ashamed of myself and too unworthy and too incompetent/useless to even attempt. Also this closed offness leads to me having almost no ability of caring about anyone at all around me, unless something really bad happens. I physically and socially isolate myself, but also emotionally.

Of course I would help if someone I cared about came distressed and asked for it, I'd even worry and care, but unless they take the initiative the thought would not cross me.

I've also thought about whether or not I'm worthy to help other people as someone who is a failure. And I think I've come to the conclusion that I'm doing it as a way to say I appreciate everything they've done for me. Since they're always there for me, it feels selfish to not give back. I don't want to see people who are close to me get into the same position I'm in. I just want contribute something before I snap so my life isn't completely worthless and wasted everyone's time.

Altruism is often considered to be a selfish trait. Getting satisfaction from helping another person could easily be understood that way.
There's a saying ..."It's nice to be nice".
Whether it is a result of genuine Empathy or selfishness, the result is the same. So don't sweat it.
