I ask this because I know a guy who was a bodybuilder and died because of insulin usage without wanting to suicide. It was really fast for what i know. He passed out and his brother was running to buy some sweet because he had nothing to eat In his house but when he brought the sweets he was already dead. But then I researched and saw that it's not that easy to kill yourself with insulin but I want to know about what you guys think

If you drink alcohol and dont eat for a while, and then takes Metformin or/and insuline before you go to sleep its a high chance of dying.

Accidental Insulin OD's are common, and yes you can easily die from an insulin OD, however i dont think there is a MegaThread on the forum for it so you would have to research it out in the internet, i would imagine the dosages needed to achieve a lethality depend on you weight and maybe even underlying health conditions. So just study up on the subjet if you think it might be a method worth considering for yourself.

Yea but he would have to wait until he enters a hypoglycemic state in order to succeed with that and even if you double dose, theres no guarantee that it will be lethal, every case is different.

Btw i have been in a hypoglycemic and its scary.
Symptoms are clod sweats, paleness, body shivers and trembles and just the general physical feeling is very displeasing.

Yes, but then you were sober and awake.

I works like this iirc; when you drink alcohol the liver stops making bloodsugar, and while drunk you maybe forgets to eat and on top of that insulin and metformin. It will kill you if you dont have someone to check on you.

So, dont eat during 24h, drink vodka (no sugar in it) and take a metforminpill every hour until you drop. The alcohol takes away any discomfort.

Anecdotal, my husband has almost killed himself like this several times and has not suffered at all. He cant understand why im upset the day after. Luckely he only drink once a year.

Diabetics get unresponsive to insulin over time....it works best, if you are a non-diabetic...

They used to put people in insulin comas to treat mental illness. I think you could make yourself pass out but maybe would need somebody else to administer insulin after that too to ensure it's death and not a coma.

I TRIED THIS ... years ago - and I got this MASSIVE HUNGER, I guess it was the body's way to survive, as my blood sugar was going down,
and it is a painful way to go... I suggest not..

I honestly don't remember, it was 2001, but I remember RAGE FOR EATINg,, I could have killed someone keeping me from eating.. it was unreal. I guess it was the automatic response of a body about to go into hypoglycemia... but it was a nice idea - as in many countries (Canada) insulin is available over the counter....

That sounds horrible...

Insulin syringes are usually 0.5 ml .... and PPeH, says you have to inject yourself 20 times to get the lethal dose....is it possible to use a 10 ml syringe for this? How did you do it?

JohnDoe1, I used a IM needle (intra-muscular) which is much bigger - shot in the Vastus Lateralis (big leg muscle) and a much bigger amount than a insulin needle would need. (I really don't recommend you do this John)

But you didn't even passed out? If you OD with a lot of insulin isn't dying certain thing?

yes, it is possible. I thought about this method few years ago. But i wanted to make it sure and planned to ingest some oral drugs combination (verapamil+digitoxin+metoprolol).

Our body is capable to withstand in unpredictable way the effects of insuline in some cases and sometimes it happens a few hours after persistend hypoglykemia (i.e. your gray matter is already dead because of it, but due to massive release of glucagon and adrenalin the blood sugar is now ok...).

This method looks good, but it is upredictable and can lead to vegetative state.

A nurse friend of mine told me it was possible, so I read up on it and decided it wasn't for me. As futur suggests above, it seemed to me to have too much uncertainty about it and I didn't like the risks of getting it wrong and 'surviving'.

What do you think about an intravenous infusion of 3000 IE fast acting insulin?

That would be my method in combination with 2g heroin. I'll die from heroin, insulin is just a safety measure.

I think uncertainty of this method depends on the glycogen reserves in the body, to be sure it would probably be necessary to be on a low carb diet for two weeks or so
