That's another major reason why I want to ctb.
It seems the world is becoming shittier by the day.
Bad things (man made violence and natural disasters) happening everywhere all the time
( that pretty much always summed up the world).
The world is definitely also getting more and more crowded by the day.
I mean let's face it, the future of the world doesn't seem rosy.
Climate change, over crowded, water and other resources shortage and so on.
Feels like I am going to abandon an already sinking ship.

Yep, I agree. I think by the year 2050, the world will be nothing but drugs and violence. That I do not want to be a part of, so I'm out.

I think if I was older I'd be less inclined to ctb but since I have to live roughly 60 more years (probably more with new cures and such) of this declining world it makes the idea more appealing.

Yes, absolutely. I started to really feel this way this year and I remember attempting to talk about it with others and yeah, they didn't feel the same. I just feel like this may be a kinder way to go in the end with how crazy things have been getting.

The thing is, that most people, don't want to admit the truth.
They want to keep living in their "happy bubble".
They don't want to look at the current and future state of the world in the eyes and see it for what it really is.

Actually the world as a whole is getting better. The reason people don't know that through data and facts is because the media machine is not interested in reporting much on the truth. Instead sensationalism and atrocity sell. Positive stories about social mobility projects lifting people out of poverty don't. You would have to actively go and look for those sorts of stories. So what is created is a pretty weighted negativity bias that is constantly being agitated and pushed into our psyche's by media barons chasing revenue. It makes everything seem worse than it is. With little counter balance to challenge that.

Here is a more detailed exploration of it than I can be bothered to give.

You might want to kick the bucket, you might want to continue living, it's up to you. Just rid yourself of daily negativity for 3 weeks. And tell us afterwards if it's getting any better.

While technology continues to improve, social issues are getting worse, general political climate also seems to be worse (more sensitive nowadays on what can be said/couldn't be said, etc.). I guess it depends on where one looks and what not. In short, yes this is one of my other reasons for wanting to ctb.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Who's to blame?
I'd say people, but maybe its man:
Our species' unfortunate path of evolution? (Ruthless plundering)?
Built into our nature since life first evolved - to compete, blindly

I can point at something pretty major to blame, the fact we have put up with this depth of insanity for so long is beyond me. Politics itself seems devoid of any semblance of rationalism. Feels more tribalism and us vs them mentality run amok. Meaning instead of anything being improved, concessions being made in the interests of people thriving, instead it is all about winning and undermining the opponent even if it means doing great harm to the average Joe caught in middle. While at the same time there is no accountability for the choices made that they are often insulated from. You can fuck up horrifically get people killed and tortured but nothing will happen to you. Perks of being an MP or equivalent I guess.

If that is not bad enough you often have your representatives presiding over things they are not even skilled or knowledgeable in. Like here we had a justice minister with no background in law at all. Later being told by lawyers what he proposed would be illegal. An Mp in charge of the budget with no background in economics. Told by actual established economists his ideas would slow down the countries growth. This pattern is repeated. It also does not help that you get countries run by people who are anti science. Because fact and reality go against their preferred ideology.

With all that in the way of progress I am honestly surprised we are not all dead yet from stupidity and incompetence.

to be honest it would be a better idea if we all moved to mars, that way we don't have to worry about ruining the Earth
So we can just ruin mars? Yeah, no thanks. Humans ruin everything they touch, we've made irreversible marks on the planet thanks to our stupidity, changing it's climate and ecosystems drastically. In the end all humans will be gone, but earth will remain. We will have blown our small short shot at living eternally on earth.

as long as humanity has existed, the world has been shitty. circumstances change, but in general we do the same shit repeatedly throughout history, and time and time again man shows its ugly sadistic side at every turn.

every generation swears things are getting worse, mankind is going downhill. I suppose maybe every generation is correct, I believe we're bound to destroy ourselves eventually. we're at least making the planet uninhabitable very soon, if we don't blow ourselves up first.

history shows, time after time, that life was always awful.

There are good people but its a definite downturn atm. I think collectively man dies dumb things. A BBC presenter doing a documentary finishing with "man is an intelligent ape that happens to have got itself in a spot of bother". It was better how he said it!

There's no overpopulation or climate change. This propaganda is pushed on us because the political elite are trying to genocide us down to 500 million so they can have more control over us. If there is overpopulation it's not among whites. What feels like overcrowding has more to do with lack of freedom, centralized government, which makes it harder for resources and property to be distributed more equally. There's no shortage of resources, just an inequitable distribution of those resources which is the way they want it. The more free people are, the more prosperous and able to have control over your life u have. If you have more wealth, u are less dependent on government, which is not what the elites want for the majority of the population.

They make decisions to herd people into metro areas ie: increasing cost of gas, keeping cheap rent in the cities while the suburbs has only 3500 sq. Ft. Zoning requirements ECT. Making it seem like overpopulation. In the 80's the narrative was ozone layer depletion, now it's global warming, which the govt. Of the world and the U.N. plan on putting a carbon tax on till trump came along. They want you poor, overpopulated with worthless health insurance, unmobile (self driving cars nobody can afford) they are clamping down, corps actually run the country through "policy".
