Is it normal to want to escape?

Like the title of this suggests, I wanna know if it's normal to want to escape? Is it normal to want to escape reality? Am I weird for feeling this way?

I'd say it's very normal. Even for the 'normies' out there- what do you suppose they watch films for? Play games? Read books? Get drunk? They want to escape their stressful lives just the same. It's only that the more pleasurable things in life maybe aren't enough for us now. So- we want to 'force quit' the whole thing.

I think it's normal to want to escape the reality of pain, suffering, mental illnesses, cruelty of others.......
If everyone could have complete and total control over their own realities, the norm would become not thinking that you were trapped somewhere that you had to escape from.
To answer your question more directly, big fat yes, with cherry frosting !!!

I think wanting to escape from all the suffering is a perfectly valid and understandable way to feel, I could never get why anyone would see this dreadful reality as being a desirable place to exist in, only permanent peace from existence has ever really appealed to me. I see existence in itself as being the true problem, there is too much unnecessary suffering in existing.

A new spanner in the works, but it's a step in a humane direction..
So rather than getting society to be pro choice/suicide. If the Matrix was possible, a reality programmed to meet your needs, you're alive and happy, just in different terms. However, a coma, IV treatments, bed cleans, each and every individual would need a carer. It would create jobs though, but lastly, the cost. Reserved for the wealthy yet again.
