Venting is everyone really afraid of each other?

it kind of took me aback that ive talked to a few people in my class and 2 of them, older and younger than me, admitted to not trusting people, viewing others as rude and not having many friends because of it. i just agreed with them because i honestly do feel the same way. it feels harder to build connection now. its probably why ive convinced myself that im content with acquaintances instead of actual friends. i talk with people but i know it wont really lead to much of anything. i always thought something was entirely wrong with me but this made me realize maybe people are just as reluctant as i am. everyone kind of sucks at socializing today. no one wants to make the first move or proceed past their comfort zones. well id literally be friends with anyone at this point. anyone whos not apart of my dysfunctional family that ive been isolated with for years is fascinating to me and id rather be around them.

lol this is exactly how i am. in the first few weeks of my class i sat alone and barely spoke at all in class. now im much more talkative with everyone and i sit with some people. i guess i just need time to adjust and feel comfortable?
