It just seems so. Many people that have survived drowning say that they didn't feel pain, only panic the first few seconds because water was filling up their lungs.

It seems pretty painless and literally everyone can tie a block to himself and jump into a lake with it.

I don't think it's exactly peaceful. After SI kicks in, you'll be frantically tussling and splashing, trying to save yourself.

Yes. But that doesn't last for long. When your lungs fill up with water you calm down.
