I just wanna make sure theres no risk of getting into legal trouble. If I say stuff like "if youre looking for a quick and painless method then do this method (describes the method)"
Is that okay? I know its not against forum rules but what about legally? Anyone know for sure?

What does that mean?

The cops can find anything... not trying to be negative but what if someone follows the methods on this board and the cops find their computer and trace it back to the guy who posted the method? I think i better delete my previous posts then if its not legal...

I'm worried about this too. Wish this forum had the option for users to have their accounts and posts deleted, that would at least reduce the risk of that happening. I encrypted my phone and am just going to turn it off when I ctb, and hope no one is able to look through it or what I've used it for.

I don't live in the US/UK or any English speaking country so I'm pretty safe. I think you can be arrested but only if you intentionally and persistently manipulate someone to take his life (like the guys from the blue whale game). They can't arrest you just for saying "hang yourself bruh lol".

The best the cops can do, is get your IP Address...and that's only possible, if the admin of the site reveals it to them...or if the site get compromised...

Even with the IP Address, they can only find out what town/city/country you are from...nothing else...and ip addresses changes every time you restart your router...unless you are using a static ip address..

You can always use a tor browser. It's also available on your phone, at least for android.

Can't they also get your browsing history? I know they can at least get search history.

They would need a search warrant for that...Even, then the only way to get browser history is by having access to your physical device...the other complicated way for them is to, get the Internet Service Provider to monitor your activity...that wouldn't give them the history though...only things you visit after they start monitoring...by simply using a VPN like ZenMate or Tor Browser...will solve this problem...

Is ZenMate the vpn you use? Is it the best one you recommend? Is it free?

Yup, it's free...it's pretty good...It integrates into Chrome Browser...so no need of using extra software...

From their website:

ZenMate creates a tunnel between your device and our server network. This impenetrable tunnel prevents snoopers, hackers, governments and ISP's from spying on your web browsing activities, downloads, credit card information or anything else you send over the network.

What about Hotspot Shield vpn?

Haven't really used it myself...but, all VPNs work in the same manner...by extending a private network over a public one...so, the traffic cannot be monitored.

Even just from your IP address, authorties can find your identity in many ways. For instance, they can contact your ISP and ask them who the IP address was assigned to. In general, it is very easy for authorities to track down anyone, except for people who have gone to significant lengths to conceal their identity.

That said, the authorities will only track you down if they have sufficient reason to, and most of the time they have far more serious things to deal with than people on this forum.

That's not fool proof. ISPs only keep record of the current ip address assigned. Since, IPs change all the time. If you posted on this forum with an old ip address...and now you have been assigned a new one...they can't link that post to you...

I agree with you, cops would not go to the trouble of getting a search warrant on possible suspicions of an assisted suicide

I use ExpressVPN now [paid] fast and a lot of servers, relaible, no complains
and
Cyberghost before [free ver is not the fastest bot ok, there could be a waiting line to a server, few servers available only, time limits

Should SanctionedSuicide part of the forum be 'members only' then?

Yep. Totally.
You have a right to remain suicidal
Anything you say, can and will be used against you in the court of death
If you don't have a method, one will be appointed to you

I think its ok to discuss methods and promote suicide as long as you are not actively telling someone to kill themself.

Also a lot of us are from different countries and states so jurisdiction would be an issue as well.
