• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Im just asking for those who have general idea

As someone with Mild BPD

I've read on articles that BPD can or others say that it cant be curable. Also theres a genral misconconception that all BPD patients are generally violent or agressive, I think puts people in a bad light. I somewhat belive I'll be agressive and manipulative at some point. Like any other mental illnesses ris not something easy to live with on a day to day basis.

Idk maybe i rather be medicated to not feel anything so intensly, is tiresome not just to me but for the other person. The thinking of like i get scolded or something bad happens and im like i dont wanna go to therapy anymore "thoughts". And the constant "end yourself cuz no one loves you or your annoying "thoughts". Oh yeah obssesing over people who treat you nicely just once. (Im rambling at this point, sorry)

Idk if anyone feels that same way

Bpd doesn't have a cure but they have ways to make it not as bad.

There's no cure, but you're still you. Therapy and things help. My best friend is 45 with BPD, she manages and I'm there to help catch her when she falls. A little corny, but have you seen the show Crazy Ex Girlfriend? It has a really good and positive BPD character that ends up happy. It's really relatable

Alas, no cure. It takes a lot of work and it is very helpful to have a good support system (like Tessa above for their friend), but many people live pretty good lives with BPD, even severe.

I'm mostly I'll become manipulative or agressive to the point I hurt someone either verbally or physically, I could never forgive myself.

No cure, and it's the most painful diagnosis with the highest ctb rate

Also have bpd and there is no cure. However, apparently with enough therapy one can end up no longer meeting the diagnostic criteria, but that doesn't really make them cured.

No cure, but treatment with e.g. special therapy such as DBT therapy. You can learn to live with it, even if it is difficult to become symptom-free, I think.

it's not curable but people who do the actual dialectical behavioral therapy course, created by Marsha Linahan, tend to do much, much, much better

Dialectical behavioral therapy, in my view, is not just total bullshit. It is specific things to do to help deal with intense emotions and improve things. They are really specific strategies. I am very cynical of the mental health industry, but DBT seems to be more evidence-based and actually offers specific strategies and specific techniques to help people, instead of just wasting people's time and money.

If you want to ctb primary because you don't deal with negative emotions well, it is likely worth doing the course. Some people improve by extremely large amounts. Unfortunately, the courses often can be thousands to do, but it's worth looking into.

I have listened to a few podcasts from a psychiatrist who has experience treating people with BPD and he has said that the symptoms can be reduced a lot. What I have learned is that even in severe cases of BPD, you can learn to live with it as others have said here. The stigma around BPD is insane and it doesn't help that a lot of the articles about personality disorders are written by people who have no idea what they are talking about.
