I'm in a position where I only have two options. either accept death and end my sufferings immediately, or surrender myself to a mental hospital or a care center which keeps mentally ill and disabled people. they have to do it for free and with state funds though, if I could afford them for the rest of my life then I wouldn't be at this position to begin with.

I just can't have a independent life anymore. I have to die. suicide would be an immediate death but the mental hospital would be a postponed one in my eyes. somewhere that my food and bed and all else is ready and I don't have any responsibility but to eat and sleep until my death comes.

Is it a good idea? should we give it a try?

I've been in a psychiatric hospital 4 times and I whilst don't know how they work around the world, here in the UK you often feel worse when you get sent home. It's the most boring place ever, I was allowed my phone but some people had theirs confiscated. You just get locked in the hospital with nothing to do, no therapy, nothing and they expect time to heal you.

I was in a youth psych-ward a while ago, so it is probably not to 100% the same like an normal psychiatric hospital, but for me it was okay. It is boring, you probably won't get much therapy and depending on your country the condition in their can be good or bad. I liked the fact that I don't have to care for myself and also didn't have to think much about the feelings of the people around me. Like I could give a fuck if the staff was annoyed about me not doing what they wanted. The inmates were nice, and the staff too. If you like places that aren't that overstimulating then it is kind of haven.
But, some people also experience it as more traumatic because they don't have control over a lot of things or because the place is absolute shit.
In my opinion if you think about going then go. It shows that you are not sure about death and want help and in that case it is the better option.

What also helps is googling the psych-wards in your area and look for reviews. They will be at least a little bit negative because people who are put in their involuntary are often angry but it at least gives you a small insight on what to expect.
