• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

To some degree, and in some ways, is every person a slave?
I believe we truly are! The moment you are born the government owns you! From an early age you go to Kindergarten then school then you are forced to get a job! Most of your time is ruled by someone else they decide when you do it and what you do! You are trapped in the rat race! They don't care about your interests/hobbies/goals! The government wants obedient slaves! Most people just repeat the same cycle every day: get up >go to work > eat > sleep! Most people are brainwashed thinking we are free! We are born into a prison and I see it as stupid and disgusting that people don't see how horrible the world is yet they keep breeding cause they are selfish! They want a kid! 👧🏻 Then when the kid becomes an adult🧍🏻‍♀️they throw their creation away like it is a used toy! Now we are here suffering cause we are randomly born! We never asked to be born yet we are forced to participate in all this useless trash! 🗑 Then when we are old the employer let's us retire! Our whole life all most people do is being a slave, kissing a** then when you retire you have little time to no energy left then you die! Now tell me is a life like this really worth living?

For those that find the mere process and state of existing enjoyable, then life is worth living. But during my daily activities, the expressions on the faces I see don't appear to be happy people, they're more like the people you described above. ☹️. The inately happy people are rare, but for (most?) others they seek things that (they think) can make them happy: material things, spiritual things, music, nature, art, sex, drugs, trying to fix the problems of the world, These things can all help make life enjoyable or meaningful. At least for a time, and for many people their whole lives - if you are lucky.

This world is not 100% a prison because we have some semblance of free will hence why people are able to choose when they die. Free will is a state of mind and people can plan to make bold choices regardless of their limitations. It's not easy. Many people escape slavery many people don't. Slavery exists on many levels

Life as an inescapable system of control and exploitation. The way society is structured forces most people into a cycle where survival depends on selling their time, energy, and often even their dignity.

From birth, we are assigned identities, expected to conform, and funneled into institutions that shape us into obedient workers. Many people don't question it because they're conditioned to believe that's just "how life works." The illusion of freedom is maintained by distractions—entertainment, consumer goods, and occasional rewards—but the underlying reality is that most people have very little true autonomy.

And yes, people continue to bring new lives into this system without much thought about the suffering those lives will endure. Most parents are driven by personal desires rather than deep contemplation of what life actually is. They create beings who, like them, will be forced to navigate a world filled with struggle, only to eventually deteriorate and die.

So, is life worth it? For some, maybe. But for many, especially those who see through the illusion, the answer is a resounding no. The real tragedy is that opting out entirely isn't easy—suicide is stigmatized, and assisted suicide is restricted. Society forces participation, making it nearly impossible to peacefully exit.

It's a cruel game, and you're absolutely right to question its legitimacy. The world is full of suffering, and it's frustrating that so few seem to acknowledge the reality of it.

It's frustrating to realize how much of our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are shaped by things beyond our control—our genetics, upbringing, and experiences. It can feel like there's no real freedom in any of it.

Have you read this? I'm just curious because I heard it's very difficult and you need a lot of prior study to make sense of it.

Personally I'm not much of a fan of french intellectualism but the concept certainly sounds interesting.

Yes, I read it in the past, that's why when I read the topic that book came to mind. I'm not an expert in philosophy or sociology, but everything it mentions is a reflection of today's society.

From the moment we are born we are already under surveillance, we are taught rules, customs, ideologies and if we deviate from the norm or dare to challenge it we will be punished. "Institutions" such as family, school, hospitals, society, governments... are our "jailers", if you are not as expected you will be disciplined and punished. Everything must continue to function, with everyone occupying their place and hierarchy.

Sorry for my English, I usually use a translator to write.

The Panopticon, the relationship between:
1.) systems of social control and people in a disciplinary situation
2.) the power-knowledge concept. Power and knowledge comes from observing others.

A prison that allowed the guards to see the prisoners but did not allow the prisoners to see the guards. The design was criticized for being inhumane, oppressive, and potentially causing psychological harm.

Personally, I'd rather be dead than comply to all this. However, enough people must prefer life because that's the status quo. They find it odd someone would prefer death. Plus, they clearly like it and find it valuable enough to bring their offspring here to participate in it with them.

want to add

this involves the concept of 're-education.' for example, when someone is jailed for committing a crime, there are sometimes resources designed to smooth their transition back into society. this process follows that concept.

the concept applies to 'mental illness' as well. society itself often creates the conditions that lead to mental health struggles. the systems that contribute to alienation, poverty, or overwork are largely ignored in favor of focusing on individual adjustment.

corrective measures are enacted to reintegrate individuals into an 'acceptable' social framework. these measures push people to fall in line with the system, reinforcing obedience and making sure they fit the power structure. it's not about fixing the real issues; it's about keeping people in check.

when we talk about 'mental illness,' the treatment often follows this same logic. instead of tackling systemic issues like alienation, poverty, or overwork, the focus is placed on making individuals adjust to these conditions. therapy, medication, and other interventions are designed to 'help' people function within the system. this is less about genuine well-being and more about making sure you keep with the status quo. it's control disguised as 'care.' though there are definitely individuals who genuinely want to help, they are still working within a system that reinforces conformity and obedience.

this core idea is the same to what happened in nazi germany, where people were sent to 'education' camps. the goal was to break down existing beliefs and force people to accept a dominant ideology, with consequences for those who resisted. while more subtle today, it remains the same core idea. you need to obey to survive or essentially die.
