I've been depressed for a really long time, but I feel like it's the boredom of it all that pushes me closer and closer.

How am I supposed to keep wanting to go on in life if I get no excitement from it? Like, if you're playing a video game and you get bored of the game, what do you do? You quit it. It's the same mentality I'm having right now and it's just so hard to see a point when I'm either in pain or in extreme boredom.

Anyone else feel the same?

sorta. but how you describe your boredom is how I describe my numb, which isn't a primary reason for me wanting to die but it is one of the reasons why

But can you actually follow through with a suicide attempt if your primary reason is just boredom? My life is pretty messed up and I have many reasonable reasons to CTB, but my mind always creates false solutions for my problems when I actually try to CTB.... survival instinct sucks.

Tried several times, boredom still played a huge factor.

It sounds like you are describing anhedonia. I also have this and it is a huge factor but not personally my sole reason to ctb.

Yeah, boredom is a big part of it. Or ennui, or anhedonia, or whatever you want to call it.

There are many fun things to do and many nice things to see in this world. Those things are like the in-flight entertainment on a very long, cramped flight that never lands.

I'm grateful for every little thing that makes the flight a bit better, but they don't change what it really is.
