This is somewhat mysterious how it works ? Not being conscious enough of having your phone turned off when running at a CTB location, I guess that's why some would use a Faradet transportation bag, which block airwave signals, to prevent geo-location in uber paranoia? These RFID blocking pouches or wallets (to address contactless cards or car stealth through remote keys' interception) sell for a few dollars online.
Guys, seriously, this is 2020. Of course anyone can get access to your camera, mic or location. If you need 100% privacy then throw away your smartphones and computers and go to live in a cave.

IMSI Catchers have existed for years. There are a fleet of FBI airplanes flying around that can identify you. Removing the permissions for applications to not track your geolocation is a step in the right direction.
These IMSI catchers are not exclusive to the United States. There have been investigations on other countries doing this upon their own communities for no real reason besides prying information. These tools also do not catch terrorists, contrary to what the government publicizes.
