Hey y'all. I decided to write another personal thread after a long time because my health has been declining constantly. And I recently noticed that I experience internal vibrations, it seems be rather one-sided for the most part - that means I notice these sensations mostly on the right side. For example when I sit on a chair, sometimes it feels like i'm sitting on a literal engine. You could compare the strength of the vibrations to a purring cat I gues. - but the vibration is not visible on my body as far as I can tell, I'm not shaking by any means. I also feel these vibrations very clearly when I'm laying in my bed. Recently my right eye-lid started twitching uncontrollably, it also wasn't visible but I could feel it - it's better now but I'm still experiencing it occassionally during the day. I am not sure if these are purely psychosomatic symptoms or if that's the result of an underlying condition such as Parkinson or MS. There are some other symptoms of these conditions such a constipation and trouble sleeping. I've noticed a huge drop in my mental health overall in the last 6 months but it's really difficult for me to conclude if any of that has anything to do with a condition or if it's just my body giving up after so many years of suffering from mental health issues and social isolation. It could be stress related as I just had an anxiety attack a few months ago for literally no reason. I don't know what's up, it feels like I'm declining so much and it's scary when these mental decline starts to manifest itself in physical symptoms which aren't really visible. If any of you had a similiar experience, let me know. I'll see if I can get it checked soon.

I had vibrations in my body too, for a while. It passed eventually. I can only vaguely remember it, but I suspect that it's not that common; so I think an experience is better than none. My guess is that it's stress, or anxiety related.

I also have had my eyelid twitch, too. Multiple times, actually. I don't know what the cause is. It could be stress. It could be long-time exposure to a screen. I'm not sure.

I'm sorry I can't help you much but I definitely understand what you're going through. Maybe you should visit the doctor. Or wait a week or so until it subsides.

I had similar symptoms a month ago, they were random eye twitching and a slight vibration in my shoulders along with palpitations in the neck and chest, and also dissociation. I think it came from too much stress and isolation. Try relaxing activities and go outside. Feeling the sun on my skin, breathing fresh air and just enjoying nature helped me a lot. I still wanna kill myself tho

It's always a hard debate for me what is a physical symptom that has manifested because of my mental illness or something else. For me some could also be side effects of the psychiatric treatments/medications I've taken/done since a lot started during that time. I'm getting close to my ctb time so I've assumed my physical symptoms in current weeks very well could be from my mental illness.

Problem is if you go to a neurologist a lot will blame it on mental illness if you tell them you have that. So it's a debate whether or not to be honest about that part. Depends on your healthcare system too. You could go in saying you want to be worked up for things regardless of mental illness symptoms but the ability to do this depends on where you live, what type of health care system, and finding a physician who will listen. Might take a few before one will listen or be willing unfortunately. For me, I tried to focus on whether they had a treatment for my symptoms. If all they can say is go to therapy, that's not okay with me. I went to therapy and still had physical symptoms. They like to use the diagnosis conversion disorder/functional neurological disorder if they can't find an answer.

To me if you decide to go be seen by a doctor:

1) It's important to have the doctor explain to you what medical conditions it could be

2)what tests can be done to rule in/rule out

3)what treatments can be done if nothing medical is found (besides therapy unless you feel that is right for you of course) for example, I got tremors after taking psych meds that are permanent, some neurologists may say this is a functional neurological disorder symptom but regardless they have medications to help with tremors and I'm not going to let them say just go to therapy if meds can help and are necessary for functioning. Obviously, you have to apply that to your own symptoms you're experiencing.

So if you decide to go to a doctor, make sure to write down/know your questions, concerns, wants, and boundaries in advance so the person has a lesser chance of being a dismissive asshole. I'm sure most of us have experienced that :( best of luck and let me know if I can clarify more.

UNDER-ACTIVE THYROID. I know I experienced the same things and then some. The thyroid can become under-active because of prolonged depression. On the converse, an under-active thyroid can lead to depression. It throws your entire internal clock off. It slows your metabolism, hence the constipation. It causes strange vibration-like sensations like your experiencing. When I went to the doctor, I thought I had MS, too. Also, there are certain foods that can knock an already under-active thyroid down even further. Search on the Internet for Goitrogens. The cure is a tiny, tiny pill taken once a day called Synthroid, or the generic form called levothyroxine. Thyroid problems occur mostly in females, But, I'm a guy and I got it. But, it runs in my family. A simple fasting blood test will determine whether you have it or not.

I get quite a lot of twitching and random sensations in my body that is attributed to fibro and nerve pain. My internal tremors and weird sensations tend to radiate around that area, which is usually my face, shoulders, and spine. Stress has exacerbated my physical symptoms at times.

When I had Insomnia for 10 nights in a row a few years ago due to the flu and acid reflux, I started twitching right before sleep(which stopped me from sleeping, there's a term for it)body under extreme stress--The solution was magnesium, both supplements and eating lots of raw spinach(found a website for support)--The twitching went away and the Sonata sleeping pill finally worked and the acid reflux disappeared--Been quite healthy since and I still eat raw spinach each day

I have fibromyalgia and ME/CFS and I've had vibrations as well. They are so disconcerting and annoying. They come and go. At least for me anyway. I don't know what will make them go away. I usually have to wait for them to disappear on there own.

I've had similar symptoms, I think anxiety could cause some of those. I would recommend to get blood tests done as well, they usually highlight some deficiency or other in the blood.
