Interesting thing about necrophilia i read

I was at my bf's place last night and could not fall asleep. So he hands me a short true story to read out of this book he had on hand. It was a story about a woman who worked in a mortuary and was having sex with the dead people when nobody was there. I guess this is a way more common occurrence than many people realize. People break in to the mortuary to have sex with the dead. Something to consider when you commit suicide and it's not a gruesome enough method. Not that it's any reason to not do it but know that if you are a young attractive dead body the odds are higher that somebody will use your body sexually. Sure most of us won't care I mean we will be dead after all, but it kind of freaked me out when they mentioned this is quite common but they don't like to report it.

I watched a YouTube video by 'Ask a Mortician' which debunked the myth that people regularly do this. The security on a mortuary would have to be pretty lax to be able to get away with necrophilia.

Sometimes I have claimed I have a preference for my remains to be left for necrophiliacs and cannibals, mostly to illustrate my confidence that my corpse will be purely an object and no longer a subject.

However I suppose this would probably be traumatic for my family so it is unrealistic.

I see in the news that a girl prepared cookies made from her grandfather's ashes and ate some and shared them with her classmates, for some reason the police are involved and are seeking ways to prosecute her.

It's just meat, isn't it? All flesh that people eat is pretty much dead body parts, just from a different species. The only major problem I see is the possibility of pathogens that haven't been removed.

It's the fact that this wasn't disclosed to the people eating it. They weren't given the choice. If you see it as just meat, then I guess it's like giving meat to a vegetarian/vegan and not making it clear what it is

It's also just the fact that humans are (generally) uncomfortable eating other humans. I get that it's just meat like chicken or fish but we have this.. Empathy? Towards other humans that makes it hard for us to treat it the same
