I've got SN under my bed. I've learned the important knots for hanging. And I can take a bus/train to Beachy Head any damn time I want :)

Very relatable. I bought SN in February and keep it by my bed. It actually made life a lot easier and surprisingly made me less suicidal. It's nice to know that I could just end it whenever I want whereas before, I was really depressed but felt so trapped.

It feels great to control the way you're gonna die. Good for you and btw, interesting reflection on how close death can be.

Which would be your preferred option @GravityUtilizer? (I'm guessing jumping was when you signed up here)

Is it really closer if the will remains unchanged?

Yeah Beachy Head was my first option but I still haven't even visited. It's such a goddamn hassle doing anything in depression. But yeah SN or hanging should be easy enough; the only reason I still think about BH is because I could get drunk beforehand and make a day of it.

My rope makes me feel the same way. I used to keep it with me whenever I went out lol, even though spontaneously hanging yourself probably isn't going to be feasible most of the time. I felt better just having it.

I completely agree with you. Part of the horror, a large part, is feeling trapped without a way out if you can't stand it any more. Knowing you have some control and choice makes all the difference.

If it was really about wanting I'd be super close now. For me it is more like the more you seek it, the closer you get.

I like having the SN so close. It brings comfort, but days like today it's just a forbidden snack. It's something I want and have, but can't use.
