I'm not the soulmate of my soulmate

This is how I feel and I feel like it's completely delusional because there is no evidence for soulmates. But I feel like someone is my soulmate but I'm not theirs.
I don't know why I feel so drawn to someone who doesn't care about me... why I think they're so special.
It's a stupid belief and yet something I can't seem to get rid of.

How do you know that they're your soulmate? Any signs? I heard that soulmates can be platonic and familial as well, not necessarily romantic

I've heard that too. I guess you just feel like you really connect on a soul level and like you have known them forever. I haven't experienced it . It would be a beautiful experience
