Finding someone genuine to communicate is hard, so I never expect much from humans. Pets are way better than humans.

Even if you can't communicate its not over.

People haven't been able to communicate since the beginning of time. Whether thats from autism or some kind of physical issue like communication or muteness.

You need to think about what "making it" actually entails.
