Im letting my pet reptile slowly die.

My gecko isn't eating and I think i already know for 3 months that he is dying. Today I checked on him and his tank has cracks on top. I'm guessing ist from the heat lamp, or maybe from the cold temperature in my room due to the defect of our AC or what you call it.

I can't afford to bring him to the vet or buy him a new tank.
My roommate is also super attached to him and I can't give him away. It would be an awkward embarrassing situation. I just can't deal with it anymore.
I just sold his old tank a week ago. And now his brand new one decides to break? Wtf?
I can't do it anymore it is so stressful.

Hey listen this might seem difficult to deal with but I would seriously suggest giving it away to some one who can look after it properly. You owe to your pet whether you or any one else is attached to it to make sure that it is looked after properly… that really shoulf be priority when you have pets. It Sounds like it might be better for you roo if your not I'm a position to look after it properly.
Try and find it a home where some one can look after it properly. Would be my advine. If your not I'm a position to look after it then thats in Best interest of the pet and your Interest roo.

I'm not a big fan of reptiles but that's pretty bad. Don't make your pet suffer rescues will take reptiles. What you're doing is torture.

It doesn't want to eat cause it's probably sick and suffering. So u should give it away to someone who can take it to a vet. trillions of animals have suffered extremely billions of humans have suffered extremely . As everyone has already said, please take your pet somewhere that it'll be taken care of, it doesn't deserve to have a slow painful death just because you aren't in a good situation.
Maybe look into some place that can have it foster with the possibility of you getting it back in the future

Give it away please its wellbeing is more important than someone being attached. I have a similar situation with my pets in that I'm too depressed and non functional to take care of them properly, Im considering giving them up if I don't get better

There are vets and numerous charitable organisations , including local to you , who would take your lizard without any questions or judgements. People in general would be more concerned with helping the poor lizard than shout at you. It is wrong , selfish and cruel to let it suffer like that. There is NO excuse.

that poor creature has already suffered for 3 months. if it was out in the wild it would have at least gotten eaten by other animals so that it wouldn't be suffering now. give it away to someone who can take it to a vet . it's not having any quality of life since it can't even eat. since it can't eat it's sick and suffering . it's suffering extremely because it's been sick for 3 months , not being able to eat for 3 months shows it's sick and so suffering extremely. so you need to take it to a vet to have it get healthy or if can't euthanize it because not eating it's evil to leave a creature suffering any longer , 3 months is already too much torture. i wouldn't even want to suffer a few seconds 3 months is unfathomable. give it away to someone who can take it to a vet or do something now you can't let a creature keep suffering.

it's life that is also the culprit . we all have the awful ability to keep suffering for long periods of constant unbearable pain or suffering . but they tell us life is so beautiful . life has tortured trillions of animals and billions of humans .

i want to die asap for me regardless of the circumstances, but if i were suffering even more i would want to die instantly . life is meaningless suffering

DO NOT BE EVIL. IMMEDIATELY TAKE YOUR PET AND SURRENDER IT TO A REPTILE RESCUE OR A VETERINARY THAT CAN CARE FOR IT AND GIVE IT TO A REPTILE RESCUE ORG THEMSELVES.

I wish I could die not eating. I wouldn't mind a slow death if it wasn't painful, but I hear that when your survival instinct kicks in, you can eat anything from plants to bugs only to survive. I know that this post should be not about me, but your reptile. I feel sorry for your gecko.

If the lizard is experiencing distress, you may want to euthanize. Taking it to a vet (where they use barbiturates) is probably best, but may be too expensive. A quick Internet search should reveal painless and effective DIY methods.

That been said, you unfortunately don't have the means to take proper care of your pet right now, and that's completely fine.
Plenty of people do though, get in contact with them ))
