I don't normally do new year resolutions but when I'm in the verge on killing myself, I think its worth a try at least.

im going to try and change everything this year from:
  • Exercising and going for walks
  • Dieting and eating healthy to lose some weight
  • Cosmetic surgery to enhance my looks and maybe help myself feel better
  • Get my driving license and have more freedom to be able to go anywhere
  • Establish a good morning and night routine as well as a skincare routine
  • Meditate and practise my deep breathing and try make it a part of my day
  • Also doing DBT soon too and hopefully change medication as well as spice up and change my safety/distraction box
  • I just want to look in the mirror and be happy with what I see.
I want to give myself one final chance to see if this makes any difference. At least then when I decide to catch the bus I'll know to myself that I truly tried to ease my suffering.

I don't expect one year to be life changing but it would be nice to see a small difference

Before I ended up with severe anxiety and physical health issues, your goals actually cured my depression that I had before. One recommendation is persisitence. It was not a day and night change but after about a month I still had awful days but they were maybe 10% easier and I still followed my exercise and health routine. around the 8th month mark I'd say I was genuinely happy. I was healthy and hydrated and my self-esteem was through the roof. I hope that you experience the same euphoria and sustain it! Remember it won't be an immediate change. This always discourages people. It takes weeks to months to feel a change in mental health. I don't mean to speak for the whole forum as we are pro-choice but I imagine the vast vast majority of us are rooting for you:hug::heart:

Firstly, good for you! Putting together a list is a brilliant starting point. Give yourself a target for something to achieve is great.

I've done this a few time, a repeating problem I've had is trying to achieve too much and trying to be perfect at everything - and that in itself has caused issues.

What I'd say is set yourself daily weekly and monthly targets, its a marathon, not a sprint.

There's a lot around exercise and self care, which in my experience better than anything any medication can offer.

Two things that helped me:

Pro-biotic pills with the diet. They help produce good chemicals in your brain.

Nike/Training Running Apps.

For motivation, CALL a friend everytime you do something good and tell them about it (make sure its a positive friend and dont just post on Facebook). The positive support will help.

If you come up with any helpful tips let me know!

Good luck, keep posting your progress on the group.

Good ideas. If you slowly implement things and just keep building you totally can change your whole life by the end of next year. I have big Hope's that the new year will be better than the last year has been. It has to be better it cant get any worse.
Happy new year

I feel like doing something similar, make small bits of progress every day, even if they aren't huge changes.
