What do you do to stop it? Its not stopping at all..i never ever had this before until a couple months ago. Ive been under alot of stress. Today is the first time the song keeps looping even when trying to distract myself. The odd thing is this always happens when I take my thyroid medicine, so idk if its that, or mental. I really want to stop taking it but cant bc I need it for my thyroid to function. I already have a shitload of other illnesses I really dont need this right now. :'(

OCD, I deal with the song thing on a daily basis (among other things).

Though I don't have an official dx.

Have you tried singing it all the way through in your head?

I just try to focus my attention on something else. For example, I try to go and watch a tv show or read a book or even just go for a walk/run.
Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't! It's really annoying, actually.

Sometimes it helps me to sing along or play the actual song. Leaning into it causes me less distress, though it's distracting as all hell. It helps to break the "loop," other times I'll end up humming or singing the song till it stops. I usually just have to wait it out.

It's normal. Google "earworm." It'll eventually go away but may reoccur at a later stage.

That happens to me all the time, having a song stuck in ones head seems rather normal to me.
But having just one intrusive thought or sentence repeat itself over and over seems more ocd-like and potentially hinting at some sort of mental instability.

So you have to answer for yourself how much those thoughts bother you and if you're not able to let go of them at all or if they're just occasional flair ups you can live with.

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I went through something similar a few years ago when I was experiencing psychosis. I kept hearing the same ominous sounding tune in my head all the time. I was also having visual hallucinations, but had no idea that auditory hallucinations were a thing. I went through a lot of distress at the time, so I can empathize with you.
