What happens if I press the "IGNORE" button against personal profiles ?

Does it stop my PC from displaying posts from the individuals in question ?

What about where the individuals are quoted in posts by people I have not Ignored ?

Seems to hide any posts/replies they make, but it still leaves little "show ignored content" links at the bottom so you know someone you have on the list has responded. Their quotes within an unignored person's post still show up for me anyway.

How can I ignore someone when they have closed access to their profile page ?

( If you can't then I'll have to open my profile page so people can ignore me .... ( nervous chuckle ))

Click your avatar in a post. Follow/Ignore options there

If you click once on their avatar/username within a thread, on computer at least, it activates a pop-up and the Ignore button should be on the bottom left. This works even on profiles that show the "This user limits who can view their profile" message when you try to go to their full profile. I think I have mine set to not allow people to view so give it a shot here and see if I disappear.

Ignore is wonderful. Cuts out so much offensive, coarse, childish rubbish.

you can close a profile? will that block pm from being sent to you too?

Ignore is wonderful. Cuts out so much offensive, coarse, childish rubbish.

I never ignore anyone because I have thick skin and even people who are obnoxious and foolish to me, are capable of saying something, that benefits me in one way or another. Even if the only benefit is to learn, more about how their brain works. Besides, actually reading anything or looking at anything on the internet is still optional. There's always the back button.

I have everyone on ignore... Family, friends, and people on the outside world.

Don't worry, none of you are on ignore. I don't block anyone here.

Yeah I unchecked all the visibility boxes I could find but I think I'm still visible.

Actually, I just looked at my set up... I have it set so only members can view it... I'm going to switch it to people I follow only. Maybe that'll work.
