If you use a firearm, what's the best place to shoot it?

I was thinking about how people survive gunshots and how people die instantly from them. In particular, I remember Budd Dwyer shooting himself in his mouth and then blood flowing out of his nose like a tap.

Is the best way inside the mouth as opposed to at the side of the head?

That part depends on the bullet used. Use a .22 and it won't exit but a .38 will probably exit. I've heard that hollow point bullets are more lethal as well. I'm personally using a .300 with hollow points.

I am using a Glock 17 9mm with hollow point bullets soon but I don´t know whether to use a temple shot or through the eye and therefor hitting the brainstem.

I can only go after what I was taught in the military twilight is correct also if you know where your heart is sudden death occurs with a high caliber bullet and behind the ears or through them slightly arced to the back of the head if your able a rifle with a high velocity round 7.62mm or above will do the trick the exit hole will be immense or a high grade shotgun shell

Hollow point bullet, in mouth at a 15 degree angle upwards. It will hit the brain stem which controls all of your vital functions. Once it's obliterated, you will die immediately and it will be impossible to revive you.

Like others have said, the goal is to hit the brainstem. Aim in the mouth slightly upwards, or aim laterally directly on or just above the ear to the other ear. Use a hollow point bullet, which is designed to expand when it hits flesh and cause as much damage as possible.
