That quote i hear so many prolifers and even people here say. I get your point but you've got to understand killing yourself is not easy. If it was believe me there would very few threads on this forum.

Its like yall think we are just here for attention and we can just jump off a building at any time and anywhere if we really wanted to. If we did we would end up like this guy

We have to take of our time. We have to research. If we don't we risk just further suffering.

Yes, this statement does sometimes irk me. In some instances, it could be true, but more often than not, the damned survival instinct gets in our way and we also need to fully commit to our attempt in order to succeed (no half-assed attempts as that results in failure).

Who is that guy that said there should be suicide pills that are legalized by the government so that anyone can ctb properly?

He said it would even lower the suicide rate because people would only use it as a last resort after they try to better themselves.

Suicide could be easy in theory if you live alone with no possibility of being interupted or stopped. But if you don't you'll get 'life saving' technology imposed on you and more than likely wake up in a worst situation. Society makes suicide so much more difficult than it really is in every way possible:(

I took an overdose and an ex said 'if you really wanted to kill your self you would have'. Never 'oh I'm so sorry that happened' etc

It's one of the cruelest and most ignorant things anyone has ever said to me. It pretty much confirmed he was dick. I don't think it's a normal sane response.

It reminds me of the argument against allowing euthanasia, "You can already kill yourself if you want to, we just shouldn't involve other people". Except only about 1 in 25 attempts is successful and unless you do some serious research you are more likely to permanently injure yourself than expire.

We have to take of our time. We have to research. If we don't we risk just further suffering.

That's right. It's all smooth sailing from then onwards. It's unfortunate that often they confuse those who are "only crying out for attention" and those who are "actually determine to" and that's the problem. They only think of one, and don't see the other. It annoys the heck out of me. Thank you bigj75.

I would reply and say.

"If it was that easy you would already have married someone"

See what i did there?

Suicide is complex, serious and needs alot of rational thought. Like marriage. Suicide is something that needs to be approached with the gravity and seriousness it deserves like marriage. Suicide Shouldnt just be forced and should be done comfortably, like marriage.

I hope people understand the comparison im making. Its just i think this comparison is alot easier for the typical "normie pro lifer/average person" to understand.

Well since its about to end. I am just doing whatever I want. Wasnt as if I have a deadline or something for doing it. I will ride this out until I had enough. No point letting it go waste.

We should just have a big farewell party with food, drinks and n fruit punch. So we can all go out in style.

I've always felt like this in reaction to this phrase. It's interesting, because I've had more than 1 mental health practitioner (therapist/counsellor/psychiatrist, etc.) say this to me.

They also say "people that really want to kill themselves will do it". As if all it takes is really wanting to die by suicide. This is some Law of Attraction bullshit straight out of The Secret.

Ctb is a thing which requires a proper preparation. They are right, we actually DO want to die and that's why we want to avoid surviving and just can't do our act impulsively

Never had someone tell my this straight-up because i never said to anyone (irl) i want to die. But i'd probably respond:

'Ok fine give me a peacefull and guaranteed way to ctb right now ... And while you are at it take care of all my affairs that need to be taken care of an maybe write a note too since it's all so easy. Maybe even inform my relatives? Thanks bye see you on the other side asshole.'

Or:

'Oh hey maybe you can kill me? Wanna help?' Since i'm taking way too long to your liking...'

It's hard to overcome the survival instinct. It sucks when people assume you just want attention until you actually die.

I don't think any one of us wants failure to be an option for us.
Yes, but in my case CTB is urgent. I need to do it before my health deteriorates because I'll end up in a hospice. My disease is progressing too much.

They simply don't understand the amount of pain someone has to be in to go through with suicide it is harder than anything they will ever go through in their lives.
