Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to dismiss your reason for wanting to ctb as not important. It is to you and that's all that matters. We all have legitimate reasons for being here and I don't believe mine are any more significant than yours, or anyone else's.

I look at it differently though. I am nearly 50, I've had it all, nice house, car, luxury items as well as 4 wonderful children. I also lost it all, twice. First marriage fell apart, she got everything, house, car and kids. The only thing that I cared about losing was my kids. Fuck material possessions. The second time my marriage failed, all she wanted was the house and the car, said I could have the kids. Couldn't get those papers signed quick enough.

At the end of the day though, we are both at the same place, at the same time. On a fucking suicide forum. I know for a fact though, that without the responsibility of having to raise 2 young children, I would have caught that bus many years ago.

Seriously though, I hope you find that pot of gold you seek and it brings you all the happiness you desire.

Usually most people wake up right before they die which sucks. Actually dying in your sleep unconscious for the entire time is very rare.

In the spirit of the question, it would likely be career related, so that I could fulfil any purpose I had and feel worthwhile in the manner I know how. Seems like it would give me the best chance.

Not sure one 'ordinary' wish could cover everything though. I'm not awfully fit for stability or peace, never mind happiness.
