I was not sure how to put this post. I really hope this is not a controversial opinion on this website. Honestly I absolutely can't say how many minors are visiting this website. I hope not many of them but I could barely make an estimation. For the ones who are visiting this forum I would like them to know something.
I assume that many minors who want to commit suicide never have spoken to a professional. Probably/ Maybe the parents don't even know their child is contemplating suicide. You should not make such a final decision in such a young age. I think assisted suicide for minors should only be a rare exception. I would only allow it when a doctor would make an assessment about the situation and approves it.
If you are this young your brain is changing a lot. There are several developments which can be pretty burdensome. Puberty can be pretty horrible. In this age there is a lot of bullying happen. You want to belong to a group. You want to know who you are and where you should belong to. Being lonely or desperate in this age isn't that seldom. You are not alone with your struggle. There is a lot of peer pressuring happening at school. Maybe you experience your first love at this age or your first rejections/broken partnerships. The emotions and moods in this age can be often quite extreme. The hormones can make you feel horrible and puzzled. At this age many try to become more independent from their parents or start using drugs. I can only recommend please be careful with psychoactive drugs. There are several studies which prove even marijuana can damage your mental health a lot when you are a teenager. Smoking weed as a teenager is pretty dangerous for example concerning developing a psychosis.
If you are this young you should not make such a final decision as committing suicde. As I said your brain and health is developing. It is barely impossible to predict the future at such a young age. Maybe you feel like if you were in an absolute hopeless situation. Talking with someone you trust in real life can be relieving. Maybe you know a teacher who you trust or you have a psychologist at your school. If you have a good relationship to your parents maybe they can help you so that you can talk to a professional. There is no need to feel ashamed for your struggling. Maybe you have depression and you don't even know it. When I was a teenager I had depression too (and mania) and I did not know it. Mental illnesses can be treated with therapy and medication. There are good alternatives to suicide.
If the relationship with your first love broke up this can feel like the world is ending for you. Trust me this problem is in most cases fixable. Wanting to commit suicide as a teenager because your first love rejected you isn't that rare. It hurts a lot it, it can be a huge pain but if you live on in 10 or 20 years you will think that this was only a short period time in your development. Most adults can remember the pain they have experienced when their first love rejected them. Handling such a setback can make you stronger and more resilient.
Committing suicide as a minor is in most cases not a good idea. There are many teenagers who experience several crises when growing up. It is quite common. If you still want to do it when you are an adult you can still do it. There is no need to rush with this decision. The outcome of your life is often undetermined in this age. Noone can predict the future despite the fact you might feel like it would never become better. Hiding your suffering can be pretty tough. At this age I had noone to talk to. I could not open up to anyone. After my psychosis I was more or less forced to open up. For me it was relieving.
The notion that there are teenagers in this forum who never spoke to anyone about their pain is quite terrifying for me. This final decision can wait till you are older. Being a teenager is often related to existential crisis. There are so many adults for whom this only was a temporary struggle. Your life as a teeanger is often completely different to your life as an adult. There are so many examples for that. ( Though in this forum many adults are rather a bad example for that. But if we look at statistics there is a good chance for a better life as an adult.)
Yeah I hope noone is angry with me because this post is more life-affirming. The positivity rather belongs to recovery but ALL teeangers should know about that and not only the ones who want to recover.
