This is more of a theory for afterlife but also why suicide is scary to others and why hanging is one method that really impersonates what suicide is about.
Someone gets scared finding a corpse of someone who commited suicide for the little feelings he had for himself therefor for the one finding the corpse.
Its a deep thought of that one who find the body , that if that person who has just commited suicide was to come back , he would sometime kill them too without hesitation and this is true. One can only go so far commiting suicide until he chooses to eliminate the other guy from this existence.

Hanging which was considered in old times in China if im not mistaken the ultimate act of women who wanted to show their rebellion against people or goverments , and then all chinese believed in ghosts,they commited suicide by hanging to terrorize the people they didnt like and make them believe they will be haunted by their spirits.
The psychology behind this is the seperation of human being from his body . Head/Mind/Logic/Observer is seperated from the Body/Feelings . So now the one who commited this act is wandering in some other existence who might as well appear in this existence again as a numb and without feelings person who could do every horrible thing you can imagine with little feelings and a weakness to act upon his desires in a right manner. If suicide was a picture hanging would be the most clarifying of what suicide is about. Is about the person seperating his mind(consciousness) from his feelings so he can be free from his suffering. His leaving with it the most important thing we have aswell our happiness and the people who are worth of it and the reason we have that happiness, but that doesnt bother him as his feelings are not completely gone , they are now are more of personal feelings.They are not feelings that include others but thats not the purpose of the suicider, only peace of mind. Thats why suiciders are not burried with other people(its a metaphor of religion) , to explain that suiciders if they come back here they will live in the expense of others by killing and doing illegal things to compensate their inability to take and give with society for their survival in legal and compassionate ways, for the weakness they had to fullfil their wants and needs when they were alive just about to commit suicide. Truth is one can live without the kind of mental suffer suiciders go in 2 ways one is being really evil suspicious and prideful the other is being prideful loving and funny. In death we get to be the first in life we get to be the second. Thats why one who is denying the only way to truthfuly be liberated and chooses death and evil and evenmore brings that smell of death in life when he comes in this society, is considered evil. Truth is noone is evil its just a defense mechanism. But pain and danger are real
