If my perceptions of events happening to me were clouded by black and white extreme thinking, is there any benefit to me turning to others about my problem?

They'll say "you're over reacting" "it's not as bad as you perceive" "you're making a mountain out of a mole hill"

If I am to get these responses consistently from those around me when venting, then what is the point in me speaking up?

It's better to keep things in because I just make everything too emotional

I can assure you that won't happen here. And thus, lots of people use this forum to vent out. Feel free to vent out if you need to. We are all here to listen.

Most of us live wholly with black and white thinking. That's part of depression. And it's ok to get stuck in that loop. And yes the non depressed don't get it.
