  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I never thought of that. I hope it won't link them to any specific account because I'll be using SN also. How would it lead them to your real identity?

I don't see any way to link the two. I always use a VPN just to cover my tracks & protect my anonymity. 🤗🌹💔

I mean it's possible if they search SN and find articles that talk about this site, that they may assume you browsed here. But I'm not sure how they would find out your specific account just from knowing you used SN.

My family. No they wouldn't know who I am. But I feel like some of my close friends. Who know me. And know how I type. Would know instantly this account was mine if they came across it lol.

This isn't the only place people find out about SN, the Peaceful Pill Handbook is another major source people use to CTB. I doubt anybody would automatically associate SN with this site, unless they happened to have read some of the articles. This site doesn't pop high up in search results for SN, you have to scroll through a few pages to reach it.

The use of SN has been increasing, but it's still relatively rare on the local scale. I live in a city with about 4 million people, and I read the medical examiner's report on deaths. I have yet to see an SN suicide, the majority are guns and hanging. So I expect most people doing investigations may know what SN is at a general level, but they won't know detailed information like how people learn about it.

It's not particularly likely people will find your SaSu posts through internet search, since only a few pages end up in search results. If you posted your real name, or used the same member name you used on other sites like social media, then you might be found through search. The only way to see all of someone's posts in SaSu is to figure out their member name, register for an account, use it enough to activate the search bar, then search for posts by that member.

Its certainly possible. I think if I had a very perceptive friend looking at this site they could identify my writing style as well as the fact that my username here is slightly related to my other online handle as well as some other hints that I can't talk about. Basically, it just depends on how well you cover your tracks.

Yeah this is something I worry about too and since my ctb will probably be spontaneous, ironically I probably won't end up taking my own advice but; best way would be to just delete all browser history, cookies and private your sasu account. I 100% agree that our loved ones would probably just agonise over our messages if they saw them which saddens me greatly.
