I'm a heavy smoker (2 packs a day on average). I've been trying to quit for weeks now. I still have a pack with me, I'm going to smoke it all but one cigarette. If I relapse, I'm catching the bus. Fail-proof plan ready.

Yes, and there's the life's a mess, and all that... I just felt like sharing the former matter with someone.

Why don't you cut down? Smoking isn't too much of a problematic addiction

Yes, yes it is a problematic addiction when you have to leave the office building every 15 minutes for a cigarette.

I mean I dont know man, I just think posts like this are offensive. I know everyone has their own level of suffering but nicotine addiction causing to be suicidal? Thats even objectively silly. Many trolls on this forum i dunno who to take seriously.

You don't get to decide that his troubles and addictions are frivolous. His issues are not offensive because they aren't justified enough for you. We aren't here on this forum to trivialize others issues, we are here to support one another.

Also, I'd like to take people seriously, instead of assuming they are immediately a troll.

its obviously bothering you. I dont know anything about you, but if quitting smoking will make you feel better, there are many ways to help you rather than venting here. Invest in a vape? It helped my mate quit and smells darn good

I started vaping back in January and never looked back. I didn't even want to smoke. Then when the final nail in my coffin happened and I started to feel suicidal again I found an excuse to smoke instead (temporarily running out of vape supplies) and have ever since. The hook is in deep.

you start strong (high nicotine) and slowly cut back till you reach 0 nicotine. A lot of smoking addiction is the act of putting something in your mouth....I just said that

I didn't do that. Started on strong nicotine and didn't go down. I wasn't looking to curb the nicotine addiction just smoking. It's cheaper, tastes nicer and isn't nearly as bad for your health (not that I'm worried about that now)

I can tell you from experience when under high levels of stress it's very easy to go back to smoking instead. Maybe it's association, I don't know.

you tried strong liquid?
The strongest they had. Tried the pen style 35watt. No go. Tried a drip style 200watt and it was better but not enough. Did slow down the smoking though

The thing is unfortunately as humans, we have to replace something with another. We love old habits and associations. You cant(difficult) quit smoking unless you introduce something else, sorry i didnt mention that. Whether its gaming, exercise, reading, badminton it doesn't matter. Something needs to replace the other addiction as long as its positive.
