If I leave my stove on and breathe in the CO , how quick would unconsciousness occur?

I'd want to alert authorities prior so no one else is harmed

If you look up the method carefully, you'll know that it no longer works. Something about new appliances having lower CO and CO can cause brain damage too if you survive.
