• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I know it might seem drastic but I made a deal with myself that if AI ever means I have to get a different job I will end it. I'm a writer so luckily AI can't do what I do for a little while (for people like animators or music producers, it already can) I still can see it happening eventually. I don't really live for anything else, I have no friends or relationships I just want to live out my shitty life and write stories. If AI means I can't do that then so be it, I'm no longer of any use to the world.

I'm actually less opposed to AI than most people. If AI gives people something they want and means we have to work less as a species, I'm all for it. We'll forget it was ever even an issue in 100 years and treat people who rejected it the same we do people who said electric lights were witchcraft.

Still though, for simply personal reasons, I wont go on living if i cant write

Would you be open to put yourself through education again and go for a well paid job like nursing? They are well paid in North America at least from what i hear

Not for me unfortunately. It might be just that I'm lazy or maybe it's depression but I can't bear the thought of spending my days around other people doing something i dont enjoy. I'm autistic so working on my own as a writer means my social skills dont hold me back. This might just sound like cope for laziness but its the truth.

I have a similar sentiment. Programming is the only thing I really enjoy doing, but since AI is already capable of doing it much better and faster than I can there is no point in living anymore for me. I would rather end it right now than live a long and empty life where I accomplish nothing of value.

AI is killing art, and ripping off Artist's work. And honestly it kills me to see.
Always reminds me of a debate I had with myself over this auto correction.

Between AI, greed, offshoring to cheap labor, or even cheap labor at home, the job market is screwed.

Me too. I've worked so hard to be able to stop doing anxiety inducing public facing jobs where people are horrible. I do an admin job but slowly seeing my company start using AI for things we used to do manually

This was just crossing my mind also. even though I haven't lost my job, it's so demoralizing knowing that AI can do what I do so much better and faster. my career made me feel like I had some kind of purpose and now AI has cheapened it so much

Ughhh nobody even asked for this. nobody wants this.
