Another issue I had as a teen was thinking I was Hebrew. I didn't know where my identity came from so I was searching without the internet at the time. I thought I was Hebrew, it took me a long time to finally look to south Saharan African and see I was from west and central west African descent and proud too. The sad part is we are taught to hate our hair, we have to straighten it, I was bullied by black Boys for my skin condition and others. I also hung around my bullies because I feared rejection so deeply. I don't know what my problem was, fear loneliness and lack of resources and education. I feel like if I had access to the internet early on I would have figured out my identity and the importance of looks. These teens today have so much easier. My family was poor, dysfunctional and lacked health resources
