i just want to be able to cope with life and get through the days, and drugs help me cope. it really shouldn't be the governments business who takes what medicine and why, everyone is in pain and needs a little something every now and then. I hate the world man, Drugs are the one thing that alter your mind and help you see things more positively and theyre restricted and illegal everywhere. there would be less suicide if drugs were legal because people would turn to getting high instead of killing themselves, it's a coping mechanism

Which drugs would you most want to do?

I've not tried many drugs. I think only downers would make me perhaps feel better, but I am not optimistic I would feel good high either.

Pot I can't handle at all. It makes me feel super duper shitty and ready to croak right then and there.

I'd try most of them in the hope that they might save me. Nothing to loose. Specifically interested in psychedelics.

Life is so terrible that addiction is one of the few ways to cope. We're all addicted to something, be it drugs, work, games, sports, art, etc. We need something to hold on.

ive done all kinds of psychedelics/smoked marijuana for years - psychs are fun as hell but pretty intense lmao, they say mdma(ecstacy) holds the ability to combat things like chronic depression, anxiety, ptsd if taken in medicinal doses over time and through certain forms of talk therapy its hard to explain but ive got links if you care

The criminalization and WaR oN dRuGs was never effective or beneficial to the general population, since it only treats the symptoms of a disillusioned society and not the root cause. People are unjustifiably incarcerated for drug use when there are better solutions to alleviate their suffering, and to make the capitalists happy, increase net productivity.

I'm sure that if our society develops there will be a point where psychedelics and the other drugs will be completely decriminalized/legal in almost all countries again. Portugal as example is already at this stage, drug related crimes and deaths decreased significantly in those countries.
Some stubborn people still claim legalization will cause more people to use drugs but its not the case at all, there have been studies in Netherlands and Portugal, all of them show that consumption has even decreased.

There are only losses with the prohibition, so much money is wasted, the rise of criminal and dangerous clans and the mafia. Not to mention all the Stigmatization of people, the fear, paranoia and cruelty.

Many drugs are extracted from natural plants (like many psychedelics, Cocaine, Mdma, Opium, etc.), the plants help people to earn money and to help the planet binding co². Especially psychedelics can be therapeutic and help people to become better human beings. Not so with out current legal drugs like Alcohol and Tobacco, those drugs are in fact the most toxic ones, they are even more damaging to the users and society at large than things like Meth and heroin.

The drugs ain't the problem, Trauma and depression make people become addicts, and on top the laws destroy people lifes.
Legalization is the only way to fix the issue, people will always consume drugs and no law will ever change this.

The war on drugs/prohibition was firstly introduced by Richard M. Nixon during the 90's and his goal was to imprison the black population. By banning marijuana he was able to do this.

The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I'm saying? We knew we couldn't make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.

I don't think Nixon was doing shit in the 90's. The war on drugs was in it's hey-day with Reagan in the 80's. The 'Just Say No'....Then 'Dare' in the 90's...Nixon croaked in 1994.

Some people have a propensity for addiction. Shit like heroin...I'm not sure this would be good legalized. I don't know. I've known one true drug addict and I only hope he isn't suffering anymore. I am leery of data about deaths. If this is data for the US...the US is huge...it seems impossible to include every exit with every incidence. Yes, people don't croak from pot...but they could get cancers similar to smoking tobacco.

I'm not arguing...I don't know what's the answer....but I don't think legalizing heroin is a good idea.
What?
DARE was 1983.
Okay...I didn't have it until the 90's. Probably depends when one is an early teen. In 83 I was extremely miniature. You're right...Founded in 83. Definately Nixon not in the 90's. Article says 1968.

Drugs help make life bearable for me in the meantime. I've had the fortunate experience of being able to try ketamine (IM) for depression, but (at least in my experience), the effects seem more dose-dependent, and it doesn't seem to be a viable long-term solution (unless, combined with therapy/a support group maybe). So in the meantime I use weed and alcohol to cope, sometimes kratom, just because they're the most readily available. But anyway, I wholeheartedly agree with you -- it's especially a tragedy that psychedlics are illegal pretty much everywhere!
