I may CTB on the 11th with SN. As of right now I do not have any antiemetics. I will try to get some within the week, but I'd that fails I will more than likely continue on without them. I know I haven't been too active lately, even as a new member, but I'd like to thank everyone on here I've talked to. It's in a weird way a sort of a relief to meet people that relate to me in this sort of way.

I've stopped thinking about stuff like this since if I always postponed on the basis of not wanting to 'ruin' an event of some kind I would probably never find an opportunity to do it.

There is never a "right" time to ctb. People will be hurt regardless of when you decide to do it.

I understand how it would be, considering not many people have anywhere or anyone else to go to and open up without being either discriminated, avoided, or told to "eat, exercise, and go see a doctor". As @AlreadyGone has said, no matter when and how you go, people are going to be affected by you leaving. It's unavoidable. Do what's right for you. If you feel it'll be better not to do it then, than that's alright, that is your decision and what you feel is best. Jus know this is your path. You do what you think is right, considering others isn't a bad thing, just understand that this is your life, not theirs. Good luck with whatever you do, and hopefully you go to a place where the stars glisten brightly and the peace and quiet is one that comforts you, away from all the stress and pain.

I was originally planning Saturday, but I live in the UK, so very little occurs on that day. I wouldn't want to go on my birthday, so I can relate, even though I hear that's a popular choice.

A part of me does feel that, after the grieving period, such a day might be used to celebrate/remember a person, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

I know that a couple of people have said that if you CTB, it will hurt your loved ones no matter what. And they are right. But I actually do think it would be considerate to avoid a big event like the 4th of July if you possibly could. It would probably ruin 4th of July for your loved ones every year if you did it on the day.

Your own peace and comfort obviously has to take precedent, but if you can avoid that day I think it would most likely go a long way in avoiding ruining that event in subsequent years

I doubt you have over 300 loved ones with unique birthdays throughout the year. You might not be able to avoid the month that someones birthday is in, or the month of 4th of July. But I'm sure it wouldn't cost much for you to wait til say, the 5th or the 6th, or the weekend after, which would probably make things a bit easier for everyone else.

So if you had a loved ones birthday coming up, and it would cost you nothing to wait a day, you would do it on their birthday anyway?

I'm not asking you to jump through hoops and inconvenience yourself. Just saying that if you're in a situation where it wouldn't hurt you to wait a day, why would you not take that chance and potentially ease others of a bit of unecessary suffering?

It really depends on the situation. I'm unlikely to ctb on Christmas day, but a week away from Christmas I'd be in a holiday period from college and have plenty of time alone, giving me a great chance to ctb.

I wanted to a few weeks ago, but didn't want my brother to have his birthday constantly reminded of my death. Additionally, I want my other siblings to have some time to grief before heading back to college. Definitely don't want July 4th to remind them of the day I left this world. I know I'm going to leave enough pain behind as I go, I'd rather it not be associated with a significant event, whether it's a national holiday or a family birthday.
