I want to reincarnate as an animal

Theres always a sense of calm i get when I see a bird flying, with its wings fully spread out and not flapping but just soaring through the air. It's as though they're free in a truly special and unique way.

There's also a risk of getting hit by a car as a human. At least for animals it's more likely to kill you.

My cats, who I am a slave to, are strictly indoors. They don't know what a car is. We keep pets indoors in the US. ;)

This reminds me of my grandmother that passed away a few years ago. She had always loved hummingbirds and she collected a bunch of stuff related to them. I wonder if she would have wanted to be one as well. I think she believed in reincarnation, but I'm not entirely sure. Either way, it's a nice thought.

I remember one time I was watching a YouTube clip that showed the ending scene of the first Jurassic Park movie and you see Dr. Grant stare out the window of the helicopter and see a group of birds flying. Someone in the comments made a point that I thought was beautiful, he/she said "The dinosaurs did not go away, they just changed." Thought that was such a poetic point about life since birds really did evolve from dinosaurs.

As much as I don't want to reincarnate if I was going to be an animal I suppose something like an eagle or owl. I want to fly but I don't want to just be someone's possession and I definitely don't want to have the fear of being hunted every day of my life. I suppose it would be calm at the top of the food chain just focusing on surviving and raising children.
